Looting leaves Bronx neighborhood looking like tornado hit

4 жыл бұрынIt was a shocking scene in the Fordham section of the Bronx Tuesday morning, as the extent of damage caused by looting and violence overnight became clear.
Residents along the Grand Concourse just south of Fordham Road woke up to a scene that looked like a tornado had struck the area.
Video from NewsCopter 7 showed pharmacies, beauty supply stores, delicatessens and other businesses with their front windows smashed and items smashed and strewn across the street.

People have been caught years later due to clear video evidence of criminal activity from riots. Even recently, a pair of 30 year old lawyers were identified on video throwing molotovs at cops. It blows my mind that people defend this putrid evil behavior, but this is still a land of laws. And those lawyers are in jail and will be getting harsh sentences. There was so much shameless vanity with these criminals and so much documentation and they have no idea that at some point down the line, they're going to face the music. Even now some of the people that beat that guy in Dallas are getting rounded up. They haven't got away with it.

@@321192ify Tampa has a lot looting. A lot more people down here carry so I doubt a lot of the cities having this issue because the citizens will retaliate since there's a lot of small business owners here. But right now we're concerned about Covid-19 and the tropical storms more than looting lol

You're all missing the whole point. These riots corresponded exactly the Senate Hearings on Obama Gate. And not a single person in the country heard one word of questioning or testimony. I guess we know now why that cop sat there so casually with a big smile on his face staring into the camera for more than 8 min. The George Floyd Killing and ensuing riots were a set up by the Dems to cover up the Obama Gate hearings. Just like the Las Vegas Mandela Bay Shooting and the Texas/Ohio shooting corresponded exactly with the earlier congressional hearings... I don't mean to be mean. But black people are like moths to a flame when it comes to racism. And you're just being used to cover up for Evil Washington Politician's crimes.

What about the days of lost or missing business cause someone has to clean up your mess and put everything back in order. You think it all does it by itself. Who do you think is restocking the shelves daily. Maybe someone should trash your home or car. Then you will get a reality kick of how much does insurance really give you..

I can't imagine building up your lives, competing with big business and the instability in some of these neighborhoods, only to have it ruined by opportunists. No matter who did this, it is not justified. This destruction means years until these communities rebuild.

It also means that independent businesses that are invested in the neighborhood will end up being replaced by corporate chains. The businesses that give a neighborhood character will be gone. Entrepreneurship being destroyed. The rioters have NO IDEA what's involved in building a business. And they don't care.

Looks like the main Fordham Road sections were spared, and most other Bronx neighborhoods. Tremont's long been a very tough neighborhood, and its been a half-century since any sections of the Grand Concourse were Grand. Still, I grieve for all of you that live there. The poor business owners. Anyone know the number of businesses that were significantly-looted (say, more than 10% merchandise) or destroyed? Prayers for a good summer, and local leadership that steps up. CS
