Thats not too bad, how big was the image? I remember downloading 7mb (a copy of doom2) in about 8 hours from my friends BBS back in the day via modem, according to Google Lora speeds are between 0.3 - 27kb/s so kind of similar to the modems speeds we had back in the day if not faster. A primitive internet or a retro BBS with ANSI art would fly on this type of connection, modern images, not so much.

Dang! Now I’m obsessing about running some old school MUD/MUX game servers. Especially over LoRa. 🤓

How do you come around region limitations (duty cycles/dwell time)?

One Bitmap Image takes 40 minutes, so he does not come around the limitations. Possibly if he would send a good compressed JPEG file, he could save a lot of time, but for this he had to use a STM32. Picture with 1226x690 pixel: BMP-picture (R8+G8+B8) = 2,4 MiB (2.539.338 Bytes) JPG-picture (Quality 50%) = 81,8 KiB (83.750 Bytes) 2539338byte/83750byte = 30,32 times faster in this example. So he would use not 40 minutes, he would make it in 1 minute and 20 seconds.

in Europe for example there is a 1% duty cycle. In an hour you're only allowed to send 36 seconds of data. 40 minutes seems well over this limit unless I'm missing something@@mikropower01
