Lord Alton gives his argument AGAINST the motion of the legalisation of Assisted Dying.

Opens by saying the division in this argument is not over a matter of sympathy or compassion but over the issue of whether the law can be safely changed or not. He states the dying is not a personal affair but affects others in unforeseeable way and when it comes to euthanasia the interests of the individual cannot be separated from the interests of society as a whole.
He goes on to quote Dutch statistics on euthanasia and says that if a Dutch style euthanasia law were to be brought to Britain they're be 13,000 deaths in the first year alone. Also introduction of the law may give politicians an excuse to cut back on care for the sick, the right to die will evolve into a 'duty' to die as the issue of resources will be raised and giving people the right to die will make research on curing these terrible illnesses lax. He concludes by saying that this law will carry the seeds of its own extension within it.

He is correct, there has been a rise in numbers of euthanasia cases in the Netherlands from 2002 - 2010 (the reason for that is unclear). However, here is what is he is NOT telling us: "In 2010, of all deaths in the Netherlands, 2.8% were the result of euthanasia. This rate is higher than the 1.7% in 2005, but comparable with those in 2001 and 1995. [...] Ending of life without an explicit patient request in 2010 occurred less often [...] than in 2005, 2001, 1995, and 1990" (goo . gl / EGseI).

It is only an act of cruelty to stop someone from giving up there life They can take a barbiturate , and drink it at there will ,when there inner will decides . Stop and look around you , this world is a sick and harsh place that has seen no end of war and suffering , poverty , hardhip , and lack of opportunity for so many People can and are born disabled , and as a result there lives are ruined from.the start , and that is unfair and cruel and also the reason why I would never have children . I have learnt that there is a 1 to 100 percent chance that a child can be born dosabled and being a caring man I cannot allow that to happen from my own will You may argue well it might not happen to you or what about the continuation of the world If everyone thought like you even if compassionate , we won't survive Well what are you surviving for , so you can repeat the same mistakes we repeat over sbd over again on earth where we fight against each other , steal from each other , exalt above each other for personal empowerment . Who is truely happy in this world , who can say hand on heart I am a happy contend human being in this sick world with a constant state of terror attacks and war and hardhips Mi5 and the CIA use psychcis to speak to god and they gain wisdom direct from god , and they are making changies now that will free people from there physical prisons Like all disabled people they are being put to sleep , so that they don't have to live hindered They will go back to heaven with God and be rewarded for there hardiops on earth Children should have been given a clean bill of health at birth , and if they are healthy they can stay Of disabled they are put to sleep . So they don't watch others enjoy there physical well being while they push themselves round in a wheel chair
