this song i remember when i was in the westindies.on u-tube i 've been listering to calypso songs ,some i've forgot and some i've remembered,this song by lord cristo i remembered this song i first heard when i was about 9,10,11,or 12 years old in the westindies.nice song.good lyrics.we who were there in that error of calypso were very lucky to have lived in that time.

Honored I am of meeting & hangin' out with Blakie, he was: compassionate, & very funny often. 1967 Sparrow told Calypsonians to boycott the CDC shows in Tobago. Lord Cristo and others rejected this idea and went. Upon arrive at OYB Tent from that boat from Tobago. Sparrow met Cristo and wife and asked Cristo, didn't I told you not to go Tobago?...Sparrow slapped de shit outta Cristo who just stood there & allowed his face to swell. Blakie came the next night and told Sparrow,"I went Tobago too!"

This is one of the classics of "caiso" (calypso). We all sang this song as children, fifty years ago. Just wonderful. The lyrics of today's soca is so vulgar, except for a few songs. Thanks for posting this wonderful song.

It's a Calypso from the 1950's, the song was later used by various artists in the 70's 80's after they changed the lyrics but kept the chrous etc.

Yes it did! This is the truth! Ask any Calypsonian, especially the older ones. Dr. Sparrow was never about doing the right thing it was all about him. It was only about Sparrow and no one else. It only now that Time pic' with Dr. Sparrow that he is now promoting unity. Yes, Dr. Sparrow did alot for the art but during his early days he destroyed alot along the way!
