i hate to be /that/ person, but, wow, this song truly resonates with me. to say that every song on Melodrama is a masterpiece is such an understatement; it’s just something about every song on the album that provokes a certain emotion upon the listener (or in my case, an influx of emotions). in “Hard Feelings,” she does a perfect job at describing the sentiments one feels after heartbreak - a devastating experience most of her audience members have experienced before. yeah, being in love is hard. & yeah, breakups are hard, hence the title of the song. but for some reason, this song alleviates the bitter sentiments i still have left of in my heart. it is such an honor to be alive around the same time as Lorde. i am so so so so grateful for her music. even more so, Ella has written the soundtrack to not only my youth, but also the soundtrack to the youths of hundreds of thousands of people. she really did that.
