Great foundational tips! I've played a bunch of times in solo play to get my feet wet, and it really gave me a good baseline understanding of the different nuances behind each track to improve my game when I started playing with friends.

These tips were great! I have already played a dozen of games of Tapestry, but still found something new to try. Definitely going to try that Military Science combo sometimes in the future, thanks!

Digging the new (pre?) intro! A few reviews of Tapestry distracted me and I sold my copy before giving the game a try, now knowing that you enjoy the game, I should take a serious look at it again.

One important thing is that if you can't place an income building that will give you an extra resources you should consider passing before your opponent those extra resources are important

I tried the strategy of trying to advance up the science track first with the hope of not rolling science side - BOTH times I tried it, I got the science side 😂😂 next time!! Looking forward to trying some of your other tips, Tapestry has quickly become one of my top games!

Man that is unfortunate 😂 I guess I am luckier. It has happened once to me and I was like Awh man. But it’s nice to try and then be able to focus a little heavier on the science track. Love this game too!

It is almost always better to just pay for the first step on another track of your choice than to pay, leave it up to the science die and skip the first step benefit. Tech -- you could've gotten a card by paying for this spot instead. Now, unless you hit tech#3 and decline the income building in the first era, you've probably lost the free tech upgrade during income. Military - paying for the spot, you had a 2/3 chance of getting a resource back, while still getting an outpost out that will score you at least 4VP over the course of the game if it doesn't get toppled. And if you hit Explore #2 first, your odds of getting the resource back are nearly 100%. And even if you hit M#1 before E#2, your worst case is an extra 2VP from the conquer die on top of the outpost points. Explore - you've just paid 1 resource to get no tiles instead of 2 titles. Even if you're happy playing your tile in hand at E#2, you've limited your options down the line, and lost 2 points at M#2. Bad roll. Science - already discussed. Most era 1 paths will give you one Tapestry card, and if you want a shot at two cards, there are other ways that will leave S#1 until it's more likely to roll something not worth paying for.

My experience with Tapestry is that it tends to be won or lost in the first couple of turns. To illustrate; I recently played a five player game with the Architects and my opponents decided that my forty point handicap made me a threat. As a result, no matter what track I tried to advance on, one of my opponents just advanced on that track more quickly. I ended an excruciatingly long game with a couple of card-based landmarks and a half-dozen income buildings. How do you typically play your first era? Do you have any opening strategy tips?

Tardy to the party but just played last night. Such a great game. Stumbled onto the Tech & Military and Military & Exploration by chance. And won both games we played! I felt bad for my friend. I would be ahead in points then he would blitz pass me. However he kept reaching his game end before me resulting in me having more time to plan out combos and significantly see what was best to do. I missed the ability to pick up the landmarks for capital regardless how you reached it. I assumed if moved there you ignored all rewards. Probably better for my friend that way though 😅. 2nd game scored over 200pts!

My friend and I are doing a 4 player session this Friday with the expansion(be our second play through). We are super excited to get this to the table again. Do you have any thoughts on trying to get to space during a game? Is there a certain civ line up that works well?

Any factions with low complexity. and always make sure the reach of the factions you are using are within the threshhold. Hope you enjoy!

Its too random for my taste to have a valid winning strategy... I won a game based on luck of a draw..my friend and i both finished millitary track he got some garbage civ and 0 pts and i got 25 pts from my additional civ which won me the game..
