This is my step-by-step guide for the umbral ending in Lords of the Fallen there are a lot of steps to take to finally get the umbral ending and a few ways to get locked out. there were a couple of issues for me in getting the Umbral ending gameplay guide during recording but I bug fixed the Umbral ending a couple of times so I included how I fixed the Umbral ending bug for Lords of the Fallen. I just finished my first playthrough (radiant ending). I was a bit disappointed as the game felt very short but now I'm getting to see how much content I missed (I maybe succeded at completing two NPC questlines and that's mostly by accident). Overall pretty blown away by the experience and although I don't think I'll be completing every single quest at any point, I'm really enjoying learning what else this game has to offer. It's a shame so many people get turned away from this game early on.

@@fogstorm5531 I enjoy the game's simplicity but I wish there was more diversity in terms of enemy mobs. Seeing every single mini boss recycled as a regular mob feels very lazy.

I find it difficult to believe that a small team of 75 (less than from had for dark souls) have made a lazy effort in their first game. I think it's actually very good and competitive with the first dark souls and seriously look forward to what they do next and unlike from they are taking direct feedback from 1000s of creators so they'll improve rapidly on the next project

@@JoeHammerGaming as I said I like this game a lot, particularly for its unique atmosphere. The gameplay does remind me more of early souls than any more modern souls like which I don't necessarily think is a bad thing but with that said I still think it's fair to criticize things like lack of variety. This is not a matter of having a small dev team. It's a matter of misallocating efforts. Mortal Shell is a good comparison because it's a way smaller project, made by much fewer people, but every area in that game has a unique set of enemies. I wish they stopped making all those unnecessary event quests and took some time making a decent dlc with new content someone could actually care about.

@emptea4437 I didn't say we couldn't criticise parts of the game, infact they asked for it from the creators they let into their program. I was more pointing out that I don't think it's fair to call them lazy, and I think imperfections are to be expected it's the same with any media. Let's use youtube as an analogy it's not someone being lazy that their first video isn't the as great as Mr beast it's resources and experience. Smaller channels that pay attention to their audience are the ones that grow and do well, the same thing can be said here they've put out a solid first attempt so I don't think we should tear them down when there's a lot to like and with how well they are taking feedback may well end up being one of the best devs outside of from to do souls likes especially catering towards the older style which is what I'd prefer

Important Note: For anyone doing this ending, be sure to buy any Remembrances from Molhu before continuing with the ending when he bring you into Mothers Lull because he will be permanently gone until you do NG+0 or NG+1 and you'll have to earn the Remembrances again.

@@SoulsPro Once you defeat Elianne the Starved, you'll need to go in umbral and soulflay a stigma in the same boss room. The stigma will located be near the entrance and it will look like Molhu.

10:30 - 11:18 I had same problem just now. So I just rested at vestige. Quit the game entirely. Then restarted game and the chains were removed and it worked.

Me too... but now in mother's lull, for me, I can't interact with the little husk dude. I even tried to quit out like with the chains... cuz that happened to me as well

So if i want to get the vestige blacksmith abilities i have to get all 3 tablets. ( i need the final one ) my question is i have to progress through the game normally in order to get it. Will that effect the possibility for the umbral ending? Without killing grelinda first to get to the abbey

I gave up on this ending. Never could get pillars to where i could put lightreaper thing in them at Molhu. Buggy. Just gonna go cleans beacons so I can finish game. Frustrating.

I have the Harkyns parasite but I can’t place it on any of the pillars and yes I have the light reapers parasite placed already any help is greatly appreciated

I saw that the IW dropped all his gear for you... MY GAME was wonky AF... I couldnt get the husk guy to be interactable to get the withered rune of adyr... butbi randomly went to the iron wayfarer and magically i was able to us it on him... without it🤔🤔🤔... but i only got the parasite. Not his gear

I beat the Sundered Monarch before getting the withered rune from Mother's Lul...I've made sure every other step was complete, but now I cannot interact with the NPC in Mother's Lul, Nor can I interact with the Beacons to get an alternate Ending. I'm hoping it's bugged, but restarting the game hasn't work either. Any tips?

It's not a bug if you cross the bridge into brahmis castle before getting the withered rune you are locked out. I said that in the video

I put about 12hrs in the Umbral ending I followed every step, But made the mistake by killing the Reaper at the beginning of the game which I did not know that would lock me out the Umbral ending😕, I am so done with this game.

Dark souls had endings just as unforgiving that's why I like it, missing kaathe was MUCH more trollishly hidden

I’m sure you can still get the lightreaper parasite though if you beat it at any point… cleansing beacons and using the normal rune instead of withered I think are main things that will lock you out of the umbral ending.

How do you get to upper Calrath if you can’t use the elevator after the Skin whatever boss?

Because the shortcut to upper Calrath can’t be opened from the Pieta boss fight from that end.

You have to go to the arena where you fought pieta and straight till you get to the mobs fighting each other head up the ramp and off to the left the double doors are opened

If you cleansed a beacon then you’ve locked yourself out of the umbral and inferno endings to my knowledge
