i made a video about this same thing nearly a year ago, but i didnt go into as much detail or as much testing back then as you did this glitch has the potential to allow you to do some wacky things, but even now its already useful for coming back to bulwark from layer 5 (just dont set your spawn in the upper caverns, so you can get to the spot quickly)

No, the reason this trick works is due to the fact that Fissure and Elongated passage are located at the same location.
