Loreena is the only artist whose fan club I have joined. She manages herself, produces her recordings, writes and arranges the music and the words, also plays multiple instruments and is one of the best vocalists ever, in a unique style. She creates a soundscape unlike any other. The praise seen in the other comments is well deserved.

She is indeed a treasure, but it should be remembered that she also re-records very old songs that she has not written, and that she surrounds herself with some of the finest musicians of our time. She will be the first to point out that these people deserve just as much praise as she herself receives. So glory for Loreena indeed, but glory also for all of the others with whom she works.

Hier soir j'ai vu Loreena et ses talentueux musiciens live en concert à Genève. Sa musique et sa voix captivantes ont emmené son public dans une autre dimension, les touchant au plus profond de leur âme. Il est difficile de retenir ses larmes, tant les émotions vous envahissent. J'avais choisi que DANTE'S PRAYER accompagne ma chère mère lors de son départ. Loreena l'a chanté hier soir lors d'un bis. Je n'ai pas pu retenir mes larmes. Merci Loreen d'exister et de d'inspirer les plus beaux sentiments de l'humanité.

Better than Loreena is Azam Ali. The album Vas the song 'in the garden of souls' and 'Samaya', beautiful, just beautiful. She have a very calm voice, low key. But you have to hear to appreciate. I think she is Iranian but she is in America.

Why is this a masterpiece? Because everything is perfect: the scenery, more beautiful than any concert hall in the world. Musicians: by the best of their own. The rythm and the melody that makes me travel to arabian territories. Loreena has the unique talent to modernise and universalise and enrich ancient tunes. My only problem is...to come back To the real world when the song is over. Lorreena, carry on ! Dont stop the caravan!

summer of 2023 and I was reintroduced to her angelic voice on a video from Faerie Magazine of all things! I'd forgotten how beautiful her voice & lyrics are and the masterful way she fuses the Celtic and middle eastern sound. In a little hole-in-the-wall "New Age" shop in Capitola, California, Summer of 1994, I was instantly mesmerized by the music playing in the background. The song was All Soul's Night, and at 15 years old, I wanted to hear more. I _had_ to hear more. That voice, that angelic power, reached me to my very core. So I asked the Shopkeep who the singer was, and if they had any of her music in stock. They pointed me to a stack of cassettes, I bought the first one I touched, and I asked my parents to play it on the 2 hour car ride home. And that was when I became a fan of Loreena McKennitt. Probably not a lot of 15 year old boys find themselves thoroughly enjoying this particular genre of music, but I never let genre, trends, or anything else dictate my taste in music. If something truly speaks to me, I listen. Loreena's music got me through a lot of teenage angst, a lot of unrequited love, a lot of heartache. Somehow her voice strengthened my hope and resolve, even at my darkest moments. I am eternally grateful. Twenty-nine years (and several albums) later, and I am still a big fan. Every time I listen to The Visit, I feel like I'm 15 again, listening to each song for the very first time. It's like a favorite painting, enjoying it over and again, and no matter how many times I look at it, I still manage to discover some new detail that I missed the last time. Loreena's music is timeless: if I had just now discovered The Visit, knowing nothing else about the album, I would honestly think that it had just recently been recorded and released. It was released 32 years ago!

I actually prefer this version because of that crazy Turkish instrument used in the live performance. It just gives the song that something "extra". The fact that many of Loreena's songs are even better live than when recorded simply shows that she is an artist of the highest order.

I love her spirit and her music, As a Greek Woman, as an ethnic singer and as a nature lover my self, i totally resonate with her and her music. I always believed that genre and country division in music was only in human mind and not in the real essence of life! I love writting and singing music from different cultures , countries and centuries my self mixing it together freely as it comes to me through inspiration. So i am very proud to see artists and women like her in the world! it gives me hope that i am not alone here and there are many people in smae or similar journeys . i wish all creative and strong women would support and take stregnth from each other in the world. She has the voice of an angel. I become so absorbed into the lyrics and beauty of her enchanted voice. Each song is a mesmerizing experience. The first time I heard "The Mummer's Dance", I immediately bought the Book of Secrets CD, and played that song over and over and over again. I could never grow complacent listening to that song ...or any other song she sings. I only recently stumbled upon her videos on KZfaq....I am so very, very glad I did. ❤️

I was able to see her live in Vancouver and it was the best concert i have been to. The way her voice resonated throughout the theatre...still gives me goosebumps.

I live in Vancouver Canada and the last time she toured here was 9 years ago compared to her Ontario where she will be doing 2 dates this month. Highly recommend seeing her if you have the opportunity :)

Between Lorenna and Blackmore's Night.....I could listen to both the rest of my life and not tire of listening to their music. I sang a Lorenna Song at a "Burlesque" show and it went over extremely well. I was the Emcee for the show and I had so much fun singing the song (All Souls Night) and I sang the song while walking amongst the audience....Even the manager of the facility told me he really liked it. Looking to do more in the future of hers.....she is so good! :)
