What if palpalatine wasn't elected chancellor?

I always love these since they do bring up a lot of interesting story possibilities. I feel like some systems between the Republic and CIS would get along very well and be relatively friendly towards one another ( My candidates being systems and diplomats on both sides who wanted mutual understanding and healing) and could possibly be the beacon for positive change. However, the problem is that those idealist or moderate diplomats who wanted what was best for all parties seemed to outnumbered by those who were perhaps more jaded, more stubborn, more greedy, or more down-right corrupt. I'm sure those who were open to idea if not fighting for peaceful cooperation and restoration would be hindered greatly and have their work cut-out for them. There could've been rifts in the Jedi, with some seeing those of the Seperatists who's reasons for leaving the Republic as completely understandable and sympathetic. Perhaps the Jedi would choose to be a neutral party after being generals and warriors for so long and side with neither the Republic of CIS.

I think the short answer would be the Jedi, how they handled peacetime, if they were able to be like Yoda or windu. What i mean by that is if the jedi were able to reassert themselves as peacekeepers and negotiators traveling between worlds negotiating treaties and calming civil wars not fighting in them then peace would by found however if people on both sides saw them as soldiers and generals they would do more harm than good and this theory would most definitely come to pass.

Great video! It's sort of depressing, because in a way all this means that in the end, Palpatine, even though he was behind the tensions, was basically both right in his actions, and needed. Even without his presence, those tensions were still there, boiling under the surface of the galaxy. So his promise of peace and stability with the founding of the Empire was basically needed. Now, that being said, he obviously eventually disbanded the Senate and democracy, and had a thing for heavy-handedness blowing up planets, so it was pretty much a lose-lose situation all around. Poor GFFA...

I didn't think this one would be to intresting but in the end it was extremely intresting infact I've been inspired to right fanfictions inspired by some of your theories this is totally getting my creative side working keep it up. Also it's cool how it turned basically into the real life cold war but I think with out some form of mutually assured destruction the two sides would most likely break into fighting all over again as there's nothing to really make the two oposing ideologies communicate with one another so a very small event could easily domino into something that becomes blown completely out of proportion resulting in war.

For my what if, we have the (possibly) non-canon star wars empire at war forces of corruption. Tyber Zann is an interesting character. Essentially, he's what a truly dangerous hutt could be. Rather than becoming decadent, he pushes for ever greater territory, wealth, and power. While he isn't perfect, he does realize that he sometimes !@#$s up. From what I understand, his strategy is mostly focused on using everything from bribes to proxies to make his power base look smaller than it is. This means that when someone does ambush him, outplay him, or whatever, they never bring enough fire-power or manpower to the fight. It's the equivalent of being told to clear out a cockroach infestation only to arrive and find they are organized, have disruptor rifles, and mandalorian tanks. For my what-if, what-if after boarding The Eclipse and using the data within to find the Emperor's personal vaults he makes a serious bid for galactic domination? Some hypothetical tools in his arsenal: As previously mentioned, he never looks anywhere near as powerful as he is. He's a genius tactician who is a master at the use of stealth technology in warfare. He uses lots of weapons that ignore the most common defenses against attack, from disruptors to mass drivers. He's even started producing clone wars era droidikas. His usage of mandalorian tanks, fighters, and even capital ships may show a alliance between the two of the "point me at a worthy enemy and pay me" variety.

What if the true sith empire from the old republic won?

You also forget the possibility of a third factions, one formed those who don't believe in either side and view them just as bad, so they leave to form their faction of independent worlds. This was seen in the Old Republic Game but on a larger scale. You also didn't mention that if Palpatine and Dooku were found out, then the major companies would also be found out and certain people like Grevious would get rid of them, if not kill them for revenge. So it would be a lot more chaotic.

I believe that a Cold War scenario would have had the same effect as the Galactic Cold War 3000 years ago between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, though in the latter stages of the Sith Empire that is now under the command of Darth Marr and no longer under the exclusive command of the Dark Council with the instilled Sith Notions of Chronic Backstabbing Disorder that its members and their apprentices and political rivals were entirely consumed by, a fact that Darth Marr used as his platform to describe the damage that it was doing to the Sith Empire as a whole. Sith Lords and Darths were needlessly executing the Empires' best tacticians and commanding officers left-and-right out of their self-inflated egos, Darth Marr himself wondered HOW it would have managed to successfully beat back the Galactic Republic to a standstill when the war was reignited once again and they were forced back on the defensive without the brilliance of the now dead heroes and soldiers. By the time of the Yavin IV incident involving the Revanites led by Darth Revan, the situation within the Imperial Military had stabilized to a point to actually do some good in fighting the forces of Revan to stop him from resurrecting Vitiate, and effectively handpicked Republic-friendly Imperial Officers stationed on Yavin IV during that time aboard his ship when the Imperial-Republic joint effort to hunt down the reborn Vitiate in the Unknown Regions began. A Cold War Scenario with the Separatists and the Republic would stabilize itself over time with attempts at greater increases in technological sciences now that the intervention of the Sith and Jedi's own "Multi-generational Cold War" was behind them at this point, despite all the advances in technology and warfare over the course of 25,000 years of the Galactic Republic, nothing new was ever added to the table that wasn't already there to begin with, save for the tech that the Umbarans made which is not saying that much overall. Despite all this time, the Unknown Regions are STILL an Unknown, and the Hyperspace Barrier prevents FTL Space Travel beyond it: very disconcerting considering that aside from Companion Aurek (Rishi Maze) and Companion Besh (Firefist), Skyriver is orbited by FIVE other Sattelite Galaxies, with no possible way of reaching out to explore them than by sending out simple long-distance sattelite probes moving at the same relativistic speed as our beloved Voyagers. The Separatists and Republic could shift their tactics from Cold War to a Space Race, to see who would be able to develop the first Starship that can reach FTL and go past the Hyperspace Barrier without losing this capability in the process! Plus pursuing other scientific avenues than just repeat defining the art of warfare as they have been constantly doing for countless generations. If Walkers are considered the theorhetical "Missing Link" between Infantry and Artillery, than what would the Missing Link between Walkers and Infantry look like, or even take that "Missing Link" and find out what happens when we cross IT with the Air Force, or even Starships? We might have found a means of incorporating True Mecha into Star Wars than just simply writing those "Camels" and "Ostriches" off as its pinnacle. And instead of using these for fighting, what's to stop them from using these Mecha in the field of Construction work? Why spend weeks to months building a housing district with a force of 1000, when it could be done in just 2 weeks with 10 Mecha? Or even build bigger and grander things than we possibly could before? Turn this Cold War around into a purely Technological Rennaissance! The possibilities are never ending if the Galaxy JUST abandons the Jedi and Siths' Cold Civil War!!

You forgot one thing. Jedi are notorious for being peacemakers between factions. Though Seperatists viewed the Jedi as naive since they were unable to find what the Seperatists viewed as corruption, if they rejected Dooku, a known Sith Lord, then they would likely realize that they were unable to discern corruption from within their own government and consider meeting with the Jedi and rejoining with the Republic (with a good bit of compromise on both ends), knowing that a cold war would likely be the only other option. And then there's the Yuuzhan Vong, assuming they come a millennia or two earlier earlier.

Palpatine would be PISSED. Like brutally murdering Dooku with his bare hands level pissed. The main point of the Invasion of Naboo and the Clone Wars was that it was a diversion for Palpatine to effectively take over the galaxy, replace the Republic with the Empire, and destroy the Jedi so the only Force-users left are Dark Siders. The galaxy being split in a cold war like this would ruin his ambitions, and he’d go about killing every single Separatist leader who had the GALL to sue for peace without his consent. And not just simple assassination, either. No, he’d had their deaths drawn out and as brutal as POSSIBLE to set an example of what happens to those who refuse to accept a united galaxy… especially one under HIS rule.

If the C.I.S and the Republic are to coexist without conflict, then they should form a commonwealth...I think.

Given that both sides have experts that were working on the Death Star, the galaxy would quickly have its own version of a nuclear Cold War. I have to give Padme and Bonteri credit for wanting to end all the fighting and the suffering, but by design things just aren’t going to go well in peace time. The Separatists Council has a lot of power and practically owns the military because they made it with their own ships and droids. I could imagine a CIS civil war between the council and the Separatist Parliament, one that the Republic would take advantage of like how Jedi were sent to train rebels on Separatist worlds like Onderon in the Clone Wars. Meanwhile there would be tensions in the Republic between worlds like Naboo and Alderaan against those who would have been Imperials like Tarkin, Rampart, and many senators. I doubt the Imperial faction would try to go for a coup thanks to Palpatine being exposed, so support for them would be low assuming none of them are arrested on suspicion of involvement in the conspiracy. However pro-human groups probably would be formed like Far-Right groups. Heck, I could imagine the stormtrooper corps becoming like some volunteer group to allow people to feel like clones and fight for what they believe in. Basically, the CIS by design would fall apart thanks to the corporations having so much power compared to the planets and the parliament while the Republic would survive, but tensions would be similar to modern America. Since a Separatist victory would likely lead to a civil war between the council and the parliament anyways, I would say a Republic victory without Palpatine rising to power would be the best way the galaxy could emerge from the Clone Wars. Though an ending like that would involve a lot of death in my eyes to achieve as Palpatine wouldn’t go down without a fight. It shows that while the Separatists did point out plenty of real issues that pushed them away from the Republic, they were doomed as soon as they were created. The minute Dooku began the Separatist Crisis with the Raxus Address by 24 BBY, it was ironically over for the Separatists. Either the Republic would crush them or they would turn on one another since the council and the parliament are contradictory to each other in peace time. The Republic at least has the structure and stability to survive, but since I feel it would look a lot like modern America in a post-Palpatine galaxy, it would be a long time until it became it’s ideal self again. The Jedi would be a big help in this, but after the war they would have to reorganize themselves after the carnage of the war and being tricked by Palpatine. The clones at least would be decommissioned in order to help rebuild the Republic’s reputation, though I wonder if it would be done in a bad way like the Empire did. I can imagine the Imperials just telling clones to leave without paying them or giving them teachings on how to interact in the galaxy and get jobs.

IF there was a second Clone War, I have no doubt the CIS would emerge triumphant. I can mostly get this from a voice line from SW:R, from Super Tactical Droid: Kalani. "Near the end of the war, Separatist Droids, significantly outnumbered Republic Units. By my calculations, our probability of being defeated was only 23.6%." The only reason The CIS did not win the first time, was solely because of The Sith holding The Clone Wars by puppet strings.

I honestly see the CIS and Republic having a symbiotic coexistence, mainly because many of the separatist controlled worlds were largely resource based, but had limited industry. The Republic and the core worlds were the exact opposite, having a lot of industry but a limited means of producing raw materials. (By limited I mean relative to one another). Therefore, they would most likely just trade what they need, thus stimulating their respective economies and war not really being necessary.

Actually, you're forgetting that the whole point of the war was for the Confederacy to secede and gain their independence. Thus, a mid-war peace accord would basically mean victory for the Separatists. EDIT: Nvm, just finished watching, please forgive me XD

If the two sides came to peace they'd most likely either divide contested planets or force them to become neutral systems. As for CIS/Republic relations they both have something the other needs and does not have, this would force peace at an economic level. This isn't like our Cold War where both sides had almost everything they needed to survive. The republic needs credits and the CIS needs business both things neither side has in the long run, short term the Republic controls the banks and the CIS has enough destroyed planets that economy building would sustain business for a bit, but only in the short term eventually both sides will come to rely on the other.

I think that a possible cold war scenario is unlikely to get hot as arms races tend to make going to war a rather M.A.D. idea, especially with superweapons like the Death Star involved.

Then hell would freeze-over, and souls would fill the empty air-pockets until all hell breaks loose.

The two groups are not that different so they could coexist. It's not like the CIS is a Sith Empire. Actually a Cold War style military buildup would be good because both sides would be prepared for if another Sith Empire shows up. And considering it happened 3 times it might actually happen. But with the heavily built up Clone/most likely regular people and a heavily built up droid Army this new Sith Empire might actually lose right away. CIS forces are sent on suicide missions and Republic forces used for strategically positioned assaults.

Well given a real world analogy the CIS could crumble and splinter with a core faction rising to dominate the outer rim. Some systems might then move to realign themselves with the Republic while others would align with the newer, leaner CIS or otherwise fall under its influence.

You are forgetting that by the time of palpatine's endgame (when he would be most likely to be killed) the republic had basically won the war.

I think they will just say ok when we need each other then we will call but apart from that lets co-exist seen as though palpatine wanted both galactic armies to cripple from the inside out so lets just be at peace with eachother

I could imagine a cold war for technology faster than warp drives; portal technology. In the end, though, with portal technology, the Combine would become aware of the galaxy and invade.

They should have all the surviving clone commanders sign any peace treaty to ensure that all the clones go along with it.

Someone should write a fanfic about this scenario.

When two countries trade with each other it is almost impossible for them to go to war.

Peace between both sides is literally the worst case scenario for Palpatine and the Jedi considering all the planted evidence points towards the Jedi starting the clone army before the war .

Not entirely sure where this could go. There could be a lot of systems switching sides, or a fracturing of one as more rights and freedoms are demanded by other worlds. If it fractures too quickly another war could happen and it is very likely a Dark Age could happen as the centralized system of government that allows things like safe interstellar travel collapses in on itself. There's no telling if one side would be able to compensate, depending on how soon such an event would take place. A Reconstruction phase would be draining on both sides, so the tenuous situation is very probable. A cold war, sure, but not one that can be maintained on a galactic scale.

What happens to the Hutt Empire during this scenario since its around if I remember Wouldn't that prosper with more potential to influence 2 smaller empires than one giant republic?

Well, the Republic might continue to disintegrate slowly and the Separatist being run mostly (If not only) by greedy interest groups and self interest would suffer major rebellions and completely fall apart sooner or later. Or if Pre Vizsla succeeds the Mandalorians would rise to prominence again and without any Jedi the CIS would be wiped out easily.

Ideally, the Republic would have agreed to respect the COIS' decision to leave the Republic. Anakin would have left the Jedi order as soon as the war ended (at last, telling the council about his marriage to Padme), and settled down to civilian life with Padme, raised their children together, and would have gradually become mellowed by fatherhood; and become less hot-headed, more patient, and more reasonable. Eventually, the truth would have come out about Palpatine, and BOTH sides would want him executed for his crimes. That one clone trooper's chip (from the final episode of SW: the Cone Wars) would still have malfunctioned, but without the Kaminoans (who Palpatine would likely have dragged down with him) to silence him, the plot to exterminate the Jedi, would have been discovered in time, and all of the clones would have had their chips removed. I would think that after the bravery, loyalty, and valor displayed by the clones during the war, that afterwards, the Jedi would have petitioned the senate to declare them free men; with all of the same rights as any Republic citizen. Although what several million clone veterans would choose to do with their lives, after the war, is anyone's' guess.

Well the way I see it is that with out Palp Dooku would become the master and would more then likely try to execute order 66 in some way but I think the two sides after some time they would find some kind of coexistence even if there was a cold war kind of a US USSR type of deal.

well in the wake of a massive conflict like the clone wars anyone from a world that was caught in the fighting would want be cautious about unleashing it's horror anew and it is likely that through meditation and reconstruction efforts the jedi would reasume their role of negosiators and peace keepers though would likely decide to be nutral and try to settle both sides disputes (likely with a number of members of the order retiring due to psychological scars and potentially a distrust in the council for not bringing the war to an end sooner). a problem for the jedi would be regaining the trust of the people after all of the manipulation that palpatine did through the media, ofcourse the revelation that he was behind the war would likely help with them regaining the trust of the people. i suspect a post clone wars jedi order would be more vigulant. as for the republic's main military as the jedi had come close to discovering the true purpose of the inhibitor chips they would likely petition the senate to stop the creation of a clone army and the republic would have to look to it's citizens for recruits like it did in conflicts prior. it is also potentually likely that in the wake of the clone wars the republic would seek to liberate outer territories from control be undesirable elements like the hutts and it is possible that both the republic and separatists would be drawn into some form of conflict with the hutts.

For a lasting peace to be possible, both Palpatine and Dooku would have to be exposed and taken out of the picture /killed most likely/ along with Grievous. If these things happen, both sides agree to a lasting peace. Even the big corporations that profited from the war can't stop this from happening and decide that since the wind has changed, they need to go with the flow and go along with the peace agreement. However, like you said Lore Guy, the Republic and Confederacy have frosty relations and engage in an arms race along with there being proxy wars. Also, the Confederacy is able to form its own Jedi Order from Jedi who leave the Republic Jedi Order for various reasons to compete with the original Jedi Order. The Confederate Parliament stabilizes and becomes the full fledged government of the Confederacy with the big corporations allowed seats in Parliament. Mina Bonteri of course /if she's still alive/ becomes the head of state for the Confederacy while Bail Organa becomes Chancellor of the Republic. Having moderates as the heads of the two powers helps to keep tensions lowered enough to avoid war. Since the big corporations are present in both powers, they act as a go between for the two powers plus both sides are forced to engage in trade and in time, relations between the two sides improve despite some close calls. War could still break out at some point but if it doesn't, then both sides along with many of the neutral smaller powers form a loose union of sorts.

What if the CIS made a rival force user order once peace was a thing? After all, the Sith were dead, and they weren't going to trust the Jedi Order anytime soon. So what if some of the Jedi left afterwards and started their own order in Separatist space?

I barely noticed something, in this scenario where the council and chairmen who funded the separatists with the droid army no longer want the war due to war being expensive, then why is the Separatist side building up its military in an arms race with the Republic?

The most likely example would be a large cold war for years until one power collapses economically. I doubt they would be taken over, because they would still be dangerous, but the cold war would slowly thaw, much like in our timeline. In order to keep the companies, the republic would need to lower it's economic laws and control in order to compete, while the CIS would need to raise taxes in order to rebuild and maintain a strong force. Eventually they will balance out.

The CIS would be independent, and Palpatine, some other senators, some clones, and a lot of battleships would disappear into the unknown regions. As the two factions live in peace, until dun dun dun... The Empire is found by some clone and jedi fleet. Yet they got destroyed. The Yuzon Vong would invade and as the Republic and CIS crumble the empire, with their fleets, Soon the galaxy is saved by emporer, and then the Republic and CIS would join together and fight the empire in the "Alliance of Freedom" and a huge war would emerge. Between the Freedom and the Empire. In the end it would probly work out as a peace when the emporer dies and there would be 3 new factions: The Republic, The Imperial Remnant, and The Confederacy of Free Systems. The First order would rise but would stay in the shadows. The Imperial Reminant and First Order would merge and create the New Empire. The clone army would be disbanded, and the Republic would have only a peacekeeping force, of jedi, and voulenteer troops. The CIS would keep the droids though but lower the fleets due to an agreement both sides would have made to lower their militaries. (Secretly both sides have a secret army ready to jump in at any moment) And both sides get worried of the New Empire. The New Empire Increses their military but then decreses after they sign the treaty aswell. All sides then live in peace. Tho some small proxy wars still happen, they are quickly ended. The star wars galaxy now becomes simmaler to our world in a sense of peace. (What do you think of this theory?) (Tell me in replies.)

As both our own and Star Wars history has shown, it would only end when only one side is left standing. Maybe if they were more similar and less hateful of the other, it could be done in a similar manner to how Europe finally stopped bashing away at eachother, but that took hundreds of years and it currently is one of the few places that has stopped bashing eachother with clubs. I personally think anikin will still turn to the dark side because of palpatines (sorry if I misspelled that) death making a big advantage for the separatists because the republic would have killed palpatine or put him in jail ( death more likely or at least a death penalty in jail) anikin making a new war with his hotheaded ness of the old anikin that hasn't yet changed
