One of my childhood dreams was to visit the city of Pompeii after it was discussed in World History in Highschool. I'm glad I was able to make this dream a reality a few decades later. It will always be one of the best memories of my life. To see the beautiful architectural buildings and to see how they lived before and see face to face the remains of the citizens that died in that tragedy was heart wrenching. Especially the remains of the pregnant woman crawling away - it broke my heart. May all their souls rest in peace.

Mi emoziono e mi commuovo ogni volta che seguo un documentario su Pompei. Da un'immane tragedia la vita per sempre! Pompei tesoro prezioso dell' intera umanità ! Il suo silenzio parla direttamente ai cuori e racconta il passato mostrando le sue meraviglie! Eccezionale, unica al mondo!

Sono greco ma mi sento uguale agli italiani. Abbiamo gli stessi dei, la stessa storia, la stessa mitologia. La civiltà è iniziata con noi molte migliaia di anni fa

si puo' immaginare una casa piu bella , con tante colonne disegni e mosaici , i tetti per raccogliere le acque , semplicemente meravigliose , da casa mia quasi la vedo ;)

Credo che nel mondo non esista niente di più suggestivo ed emozionante degli scavi di Pompei. Un vero viaggio nel tempo. Un miracolo che la storia ci ha preservato. Passeggiare in quelle vie e entrare in quelle ville romane con i loro cortili rimasti quasi infatti dal tempo, be', è qualcosa di impressionante.

Visited Pompeii a few years ago. As a ruin it was a sight of wonder. To be able to see the city even in its devastation was amazing. We have so many machines and resources to build with today and yet I doubt that any of those structures would last 2 thousand years. Had it not been for the volcano they might still stand today. I walked up to the top and stepped into the rim. Don't think you can do that anymore. The graphics on the walls of the buildings are still visible and depicted the usage of the building. I live in Europe so it is easy for me to visit at my leisure. If the opportunity is available to you, go. As children we learn a lot in school but nothing can compare with being there and walking the area. Thanks for the fine video.

Tutto questo è molto bello. La cultura romana sorprende con la sua architettura e la sua organizzazione sociale. Ma non possiamo ignorare che la città di Pompei era un ottimo bordello per soddisfare i capricci dei ricchi cittadini romani, un luogo di svago ludico e sessuale.

Bellissimo e istruttivo. Unica pecca è negli autori o responsabili della computer graphic... Nella Roma antica non esisteva il concetto di mura, epigrafi, bassorilievi, colonne o statue in marmo bianco. Quello del marmo bianco o sbiancato è una deformazione ottocentesca... I romani vedevano tutto a colori. Soprattutto il marmo.

Alla fine Pompei era una delle città più importanti della Roma Repubblicana, purtroppo scomparsa per ovvi motivi; perfino il ricordo…. il bello dell’Italia che su ogni grande città antica, anche distrutta, accanto ci hanno costruito la città moderna, magari con altro nome, altre funzioni, ma discendente della più antica: quindi è difficile non riconoscere o scordarsi una città Romana italiana antica….

En este documental se demuestra la atraccion del hombre por lo bello y confortable, parece ser que fue una ciudad con lo mas avanzado de su epoca en cuanto a infraestructuras, veo la reconstruccion de esas salas y me imagino los muebles que faltan, los cojones y canapes estaban por todas partes. Hay que reconocer que los romanos eran un veraderos "vividores" en el sentido literal de la palabra. Vivian.

As a Portuguese speaker, for the first time, I could understand almost everything the narrator was saying. I don't know if it is due to his accent but I was able to understand clearly. I've tried watching some Italian tv shows before and it was very hard to identify the words and comprehend as a total.

Als ich als kleines Mädchen in den 60ern dort war, gab es ein Heft mit aktuellen Fotos der Ausgrabungen. Dazwischen waren bedruckte Folien geheftet, die man über die Fotos legen konnte und die einem dann zeigten, wie das Gesehene vor dem Ausbruch aussah. Das war "Vorher-Nachher-Animation" im vordigitalen Zeitalter. 😂
