Written for harpsichord in 1717, "Les barricades mystérieuses" is a hypnotic rondeau by François Couperin that has been arranged for a number of instruments. The 5-course guitar used for this rendition, commonly referred to as 'baroque guitar', was a very popular instrument in France during Couperin's lifetime.
