USC graduate here! So here is the gap. I actually graduated from USC. My lil cousin applied this year ...she was a keynote speaker for the class as well as a gold medalist for speech locally. Her mom cleans homes and they live in a tiny side house...so she has been in the same room throughout her school no privacy regardless she has been able to push through and earned A’s. She did not really have the luxury to afford private tutors, and is now in a top architecture program at another school- with wayyy cheaper tuition. USC did not take her and it’s ok I am sure there are other stellar applicants , but just so you know there are gaps and how this can blatantly pass it’s really surreal. My message here is don’t rely on schools to validate your awesomeness, you are the smart one. Not matter what school you go to can add value to the world. I believe in you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I wish this segment would’ve been more about the interview than recapping the parents situation. It was supposed to be about that, about listening to her, but as usual, the media and in this case GMA editors made it look bad. I saw the whole interview and Olivia handled herself extremely well and with humility. She was not the brat I thought she was and I saw a completely different side. There’s always another side. So before you judge her, watch. I judged her and her parents like everyone else, and I thought she was oblivious and entitled. She’s learning and she seems to have her head in the right place. Going to college is hard work for a normal person. You have to have the drive. In this case, the mom was doing the driving, but the daughters were not ready to step up to the plate. Just because you have money doesn't make you intelligent or driven. Those things come from within. This whole thing was a disaster in the making. And if mom/dad had actually finished college they would know it's about more than just having money. This young girl will land on her feet - how could she not. But it's rather sad to see her out trying to apologize for her parents who really bungled it.

What a shell of a show! No one called her out on the role SHE played in the college scandal. She participated by taking photo after photo pretending to be on the CREW team- assisting her parents in the admissions process and wrote a essay about her athletic aspirations and contribution to USC. Utter bullshit for her to say ”I didn’t know” and for Jada to hear Olivia’s story without calling her out was just giving her a platform to relaunch her career and taking no responsibilty for her actions. No Accountability best served with a blanket and warm soup... and a pacifier

Even the verbiage she used to discuss the events proved that she feels no responsibility or remorse. She kept saying “for what happened” not “what we DID.” Olivia and her sister should be made to do several hundred hours of community service for underprivileged kids because monetary fines literally mean nothing to them. Let her talk to some of the students she stole a spot from at the college. Let her face her privilege head on. We all know that mommy and daddy will come out of jail and write a book (or in Lori’s case, write, direct, and star in a Lifetime/Hallmark movie “Lori in Lockdown”) and make even more money and gain notoriety. Their fines and laughable “jail time” didn’t teach them anything. No one in this situation learned anything.

I like the concept of the Red Table talk show. However, I don't agree with the loud tone the interviewer took with the young woman. The young woman doesn't have a hearing problem and an angry tone won't get her to open up any further. Interviewers should keep this in mind if they want to draw out details from a participant who has strongly remained silent.

I always thought buying yourself into college if you had rich parents was “standard”. A young coworker told me his billionaire parents were told the price to buy his placement into Harvard was a $1M donation- so how is this different? They are Asian. It sounds like privilege not specifically white privilege. Have the money, buy your way in. Not that it’s right but always thought this was common practice.

"Privileged white people did a big illegal oops, got a slap on the wrist, and by this time next year, living life as usual, probably none the worse (if they avoid Covid19 in prison)." We all make mistakes. I know I have. Please know, there is life, love and victory afterwards... 💗 Dear precious one, Did you know, there is no place you can go that God’s grace cannot reach, and there's no depth to which you can sink that God can not pull you out. His grace is greater than all of our sin! Jesus Christ is calling you! Go to Him with a repentant heart, put your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. THE LOVING TRUTH... God loves you very much! You are His precious creation. God created you to love and for you to love him. He wants you to spend eternity in Heaven with Him, however, SIN has seperated you from God and from entering Heaven (If you have ever lied, you have sinned, making you a sinner). That is why God sent His Son Jesus Christ to save you from the punishment of sin, eternal Hell. You can not get to Heaven on your own accord... Your good deeds, being a good person, your church, your money... Can not save you... Only Jesus Christ can save you!!! WHAT TO DO... Go to Jesus Christ with a humble heart. Repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, yielding your life to Jesus. AN EXAMPLE PRAYER: Jesus Christ, I come to you a sinner, I repent of all my sins and ask for your forgiveness. I believe you are the Son of God, that you went to the cross, died in my place, paying my sin debt and that you were buried & rose on the 3rd day to everlasting life. Jesus, right now, I choose to receive you as my Lord and my Savior, trusting in you alone for my salvation. I surrender my life to you and ask for your will to be done. I invite your Holy Spirit to come into my heart to make me more like you. Thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for filling me with the Holy Spirit and for your gift of eternal life in Heaven. Amen! NOW WHAT: Being a Christian is all about relationship. You grow in your relationship with God as you spend time with Him, in your Bible, in prayer, in time of worship and praise. I suggest reading the gospel of John first, and then read the books that apostle Paul wrote, Romans through Philemon.

I've never seen anyone quite as desperate for attention and acceptance as her as of late. She has no talent other than being the child of famous parents and so it is sad in the case that she can't get into college on her own why doesn't she just go to Junior college like everyone else and then move on to University??
