Lorn is such a huge inspiration to me. I lost my beautiful partner of 18 years to brain cancer and one of the tracks that Nat listened to daily when she was ill was Acid Rain, she made such a organic connection to it. Now at 53 I've finally started creating music, so I can write something to honour Nat and Lorn was the catalyst. Thank you

This feels like its the end wrapup of a series thats going on for over 10 years, the kind of which you watched basically your whole life growing up. It gives the emotions as if youve been with it, part of it, everyday it was your life for a bit, secretly wishing you are part of the group of friends. But now you are grown up, and so are they. And as everything does, the Show ends.

It feels like the end of a story. Imagine this series, about a gang travelling the country in a post apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly and contagious disease, lots of violence and conflicts between all the remaining humans. Years and years later, this kid is the last one still standing from the group, he was only a toddler throughout the whole tale. Now he’s grown up and utterly alone, a survivor born and forged in this hell of a place. He’s grown numb to the horrors and tragedies surrounding him, as it’s all he’s ever known. Riding through the abandoned streets, hopping over dead bodies. A graveyard turned into his playground. Yet this healthy and calm wild animal on the road, a dissonant image to his usual surroundings, is able to crack his impassive shell. It reminds him of better and happier times in his childhood with his family, of the beauty the world still has to offer when you less expect it, of the serenity of life between these loud moments. As if, if he stood there, maybe he could pretend everything was okay and safe. A quiet, beautiful and safe haven. Then he glances down and catches the blood on his hand, a harsh reminder of the present disaster. No one escapes it, it’s only a matter of time.

I don't know why exactly but I keep coming back to rewatch this from time to time. It's not that there are some more hidden details to be reveleaed, I just watch it. And every time I am thinking that I would like this to be longer. It even is not at all my usual music stylem but still here I am again to rewatch it. I can't tell why but I really like the mood it is transferring to me.

But there are loads of hidden details. The road has three yellow lines. Barney the dinosaur is behind him, suggesting we are no longer a happy family. The bike is held together with blue tape. The ambulance. The bodies on the street. The bridge. The deer represents nature taking back the planet. There more I'm sure. It's another brilliant video by Lorn.

Tragically relevant. I understand that Lorn’s intentions while filming were completely and and unintentionally coincidental, but I think it’s for the best that he released this with everything going on at the moment. The message remains all-the-more powerful because of it, and kind of gives us a voice in terms of how we all feel right now. Out of control, scared, watching many people die along the way, but we need to keep moving forward because it’s all we can manage to do at this point. I hope everyone stays safe during these times, much love from myself here in America, watching this unfold and feeling very out of control. It’s hard not to cry about it. Everyone stays in my prayers and I hope to God, or even anyone listening, you all stay safe and heathy too.❤️

Clint Ewing On one hand I agree, because Lorn’s music and artistic vision is godlike, haha. However, we have to be careful not to deify artists, lest we hold them to impossible and suffocating standards. I follow his twitter, and saw how he discussed how he was wary of posting the video with how our current events ended up playing out since this was shot and finished in November/December, (pre COVID) and was aware that it could’ve been seen as insensitive. Regardless tho, I’m really glad he still decided to upload it. His music is my biggest inspiration, especially considering the fact that a lot of his tracks have been background music for me to plot out my post-apocalyptic story to. I’ve been working on it for a little over two years now. Sucks that I’m going to literally live through a pandemic though :/ at least it’ll make my story more accurate🙁

Tom Riddle those numbers are underreported at best. Regardless, those aren’t just percentages, those are people and families who are gone, the 17 year old teenager who was afraid of medical bills, an infant and 12 year old kid when we previously thought that kids were almost immune to it, doctors, nurses, and common people, who we won’t get back. Love this. Gives me Stranger Things (season 1), Donnie Darko, Dark (Mikkel), Twin Peaks vibes. Your music generally gives me a cyberpunk vibe but this video turned that image upside down, in a good way. Thank you.

The first time I heard this over a month ago I was working and I only half-watched the video. I thought "oh wow, this is pretty light for Lorn." Today I watched it in full and from the moment I saw the truck and attached trailer in the intro I felt my skin crawl. It wouldn't be Lorn if it wasn't equal parts mesmerizing / disturbing.

I'm new to this musician. What does the truck and trailer signify?
@savagerockman
@savagerockman 4 ай бұрын
@@arturobandini4078 It basically sets the stage for the rest of the video, you can see HELP spelled out on top. And then with the tapped off ambulance and body bags he hops in the road you begin to realize that the music isn't matching the imagery. A lot of his videos and music explore somewhat disturbing concepts. This video came out just as covid was taking off around the world so it had an added sense of gravity at the time.

This is extremely well done, touching and poignant without being pandering or condescending to the observer. The concept of the video and how nicely the tune "sits" in the audio mix are just phenomenal. I am usually hyper critical of "artsy" things like this but "Timesink" stands out with it's concrete concept. The ideas are expressed without any sort of over-exposition. Fucking good.
