Hi Lorry, not sure what is the best way to reach you, but I know you are doing more research into K-Pop procedures for your series. As cosmetic dermatologist that has spent quite a bit of time studying Korean cosmetic procedures, be sure to keep an eye out for common idols treatments like Botox for the nostrils to prevent flaring and defining the jaw line, fillers to create aegyo-sal under the eyes, very frequent and expensive dermatology procedures for everything from hair removal (especially on the face and hairline) to skin lightening to hyaluronic and vitamin injections, and on the surgical side, FACIAL CONTOURING (!!). While rhinoplasty and different blepharoplasty procedures are obviously extremely common, I’d probably rank facial contouring (inclusive of fat grafts, bone shaving, and custom implants, especially for the chin and forehead) as the third most prevalent form of surgical cosmetic enhancements. Moving away from the face, what’s more common for K-Pop idols in terms of body modification are things like calf muscle reduction, clavicle lengthening, and carboxy therapy as opposed to procedures like breast impacts or buttock enhancement. It really is wild how different the availability and popularity of procedures are in Korea compared to the US. It’s really an enjoyable learning experience, so I wish you the best with both it and your channel.

A traditional facelift is a major procedure that isn’t really done in younger people. There are partial lifts, minis, thread lifts, etc., so that is a pretty broad question. Depending on what you are going for aesthetically, you might be considering the completely wrong procedure.

For creams, the most commonly prescribed active ingredient in Hydroquinone (low levels can be bought OTC but higher levels require a prescription) usually in combination with a Vitamin C derivative like Tretinoin. Some markets still sell topical products that use derivatives of mercury to lighten skin which is toxic and extremely dangerous, so please be careful and do your research. To be quite blunt, most OTC products will do very little, regardless of the price tag. The best thing you can do though is to regularly wear and reapply SPF (and don’t just count on things like makeup products that contain SPF) whenever you will be exposed to UV rays (yes, that means even when you are indoors or in transport so long as there are windows). Embracing your natural skin color, using sun protection, and evening out skin tone is really the best for long term results, especially psychologically. Don’t forget that when you see most K-Pop celebrities, they are wearing makeup multiple shades lighter than their natural skin tone (if it’s for a stage performance, that can include body makeup as well) and are very rarely photographed or filmed without filters to make their skin whiter as well (even media outlets will do this). Patience, SPF, minimal sun exposure, and a healthy diet and skin care regimen will take you a long way, but if it is an issue that really does bother you and you want more drastic results, see your dermatologist before purchasing products that promise to whiten skin. It might seem like a hassle, but it will save you a lot of money and time in the long run. (Fun fact: most Koreans see a dermatologist VERY regularly, much more so than in other countries where trips to the dermatologist are maybe only a once or twice yearly occasion, and with celebrities and K-Pop idols, it’s even more frequent than that).

I don't have a problem with someone debating an idol's surgery accusations. We should know if an idol has been untruthful about their surgeries or not. My only issue is how she worded the beginning. She didn't say "this is my opinion on the posibilites", she kind of treated it like truth the whole time until stating every now and then that it was her opinion. A few things I can see, like the nose (which is common all over and personally idc if someone alters their body). But some things she stated I've seen change naturally. She needs to express more that certain changes are not only changeable by surgery, but by natural progression in looks. I've seen someone completely change in appearance over 16 years, knowing they never got plastic surgery and some of what she said could have been changed she made sound like surgery was the only way to do so. I have no problems with plastic surgery. If you wanna be prettier, go for it. But she needs to make it absolutely clear what can change naturally and what can't. People on the internet are dumb, they take everything as FACT despite someone saying it's their OPINION. and this just makes me worry about the girls possibly being attacked over this. I don't mind the idea of the video, or the woman, or anything. But not making certain things clear is just going to get more trouble

She’s a professional so she would be able to tell the difference between a natural change and a surgical change. In many of her videos she has pointed out natural changes. She also pointed out the fact that Lisa’s before pictures were after puberty, so there wouldn’t be drastic natural changes after that point.

But it's really the power of makeup and camera angles. Her nose is the same when she was younger, watch the latest episode/clips from the show, YOUTH WITH YOU 3 for proof. LISA wears lighter make up there and you can see her nose is not really that pointed like in the commercial photos. What you see on social media is not real, Lisa doesn't have a perfect nose but with camera angles and right make up it creates an illusion, this is why I believe she haven't done PS

You are right but some k-pop idol are talented and are natural they don't care about their looks

So many kpop fans are aware that a lot if not most kpop idols gets plastic surgery or at least some kind of enhancements, but are in denial about their personal faves, because of their own bias against plastic surgery. I see how some go around saying there is nothing wrong with it and even point out idols from groups they don't follow, but if anyone else were to point at their fave back, it's suddenly not a good thing anymore and "obviously" their idol is the only natural beauty around and above all the others. It's kind of childish and silly, but as you've said yourself, there are many young fans. And they get easily influenced by the unrealistic standards and lies. Doesn't help that it's not just a kpop thing, but everywhere in media. Easy example: Instagram. Look up any model there and I can guarantee every photo is edited, posed, directed etc. But they are advertised as natural or real. Achieving today's beauty standards is not even possible nowadays in natural ways, maybe you can fake the face standards with makeup. but the body standards? Yeah, no way.

A lot of Korean stars get plastic surgery, hence why Seoul is often dubbed the plastic surgery of the world. I appreciate this video but also would like to see some alternative natural reasons why there might be changes to a person’s face. Although most Asian stars are manufactured, there are a few natural beauties. Kim Tae Hee and Hyori for an example. They kind of started the definition of what Korean ideal beauty would be. Most surgeries Asians get are based off Kim Tae Hee’s natural face. So although I do agree there is tons of plastic surgery going on, I also believe there are natural Korean beauties. I’m really passionate about pointing this out because on my dad’s side, many of my female relatives have big eyes and high nose bridges ( I lucked out on their genes). I’m often asked how much their plastic surgery cost and I’m baffled. And I have to explain they were born looking like that. People don’t believe me because of how popular plastic surgery is in Asian countries.
