But the Lakers were getting into the paint, Milwaukee started shooting 3-pointers 5/6 in 2nd, 3/4 in 3rd and 2/2 in 4th while LAL started 0/4, 2/5, 2/3 3-pointers each of those quarters, obviously the team that goes inside the arc gets fouled more.

Why would you expect a team that is afraid to get into the paint and bricks 3s to start each quarter to get more foul calls? Shot attempts at the beginning, 2pt/3pt: 2nd quarter MIL 1/5 LAL 4/1 3rd: MIL 1/3 LAL 3/2 4th: MIL 1/2 LAL 1/2 (because they're down)
