Recuerdo cuando los conocí en un bar de neza, estaba sobre Pantitlán pasando la Sor Juana como dos calles adelante, se llamaba doberdrob creo, no estoy seguro en el año 2007 eran solo 3 integrantes recuerdo que esa vez me regalaron un demo con 5 canciones, y sabía que iban a llegar muy lejos los hijos del sol, que pinche emoción ver lo lejos que han llegado.

First listen I thought, sounds like a neo-indigenous Doors with a DIY punk aesthetic. After the interview I found out they're five brothers of indigenous decent raised on the Doors who used to be in a punk band and found their voice by embracing their heritage. They couldn't be more unique and authentic. I hope someone sponsors them so they can go on tour. The whole world needs to hear this music.

@@cnoeroman I've heard that. I read that their Mexican tour was very political and controversial and they kept ticket prices low so people of all classes could go. Jim Morrison was said to be blown away by the following they had in Mexico and loved playing there.

Since I am Korean who doesn't speak Spanish, I have no idea what they are saying but the last song '500 años(21:27)' seems to be about the horrifying colonized time by Spanish invaders. I'm totally rooting for their musical journey and I think I will come back to this live time and again.

As a Mexican proud of my ancestors and traditions, I can tell you that you are not wrong, the song talks about the 500 years of indigenous resistance since the arrival of the Spanish and the segregation that exists against indigenous peoples by mestizo Mexicans, as well touches on themes about the Mexica worldview such as the return of Quetzalcóatl the feathered serpent that more than a God refers to a state of perception and consciousness that allows us to live in harmony and help us to reintegrate into "Ometeotl", the lyrics also speak not to forget our history or the warriors of ancient Mexico since thanks to them we can breathe today.

I just wild-guessed after looking at the title ‘500 años’ because we had a really horrifying history of being colonized by Japanese for 36 years as well. Me han encantado, desde que está ella en KEXP, está presentando bandas bien chingonas, la música genial!, una idea, compren un dron y que vaya filmando los exteriores, se ve una especie de bosque, aunque están performando en El Desierto Casa Estudio...
