7 жыл бұрынMuchos ya lo escucharon, pero para los que no lo han escuchado aca esta la version demo de "Hung at Heart" es la version de Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) se escucha un sonido mas limpio y comercial, pero los growlers decidieron mejor volverlo a trabajar el disco y hacerlo como lo conocemos ahora, manteniendose en ese entonces en el ambiente "Indie" o "Underground" por asi decirlo.

This band literally sculpted and blueprinted my senior year of high school. To the point that instead of going to prom i had a groupd of friends dress up for prom and go from LA to SD to see them live for the first time. It was a moment to experience. To this day i make sure to come back and appreciate the sounds that felt like evrything to me. Even now i still take time to curate playlists of my current music to remember every memory by sounds.

This production is really good, the only problem is it doesn’t capture the lo-fi/surf rock that makes a record by the Growlers so unique, so its a good thing they didn’t stick with Dan Auerbach’s production because that would have lost the old classic Growlers sound like most of their new records.

Interesante versión, pero la producción original con ese sonido más raw/ lofi/ diy le da ese chispazo nostálgico y emocional que caracteriza a los growlers. Me alegra saber que esta no fue la versión final, pero que bonito que exista este demo. Tkm internet uwu

I would have had the same cold feet that Brooks did and run away from this version to do it themselves, this version sounds like they sold out. Glad it wasn’t meant to be.

I wouldn't say it sounds like they sold out. To me it sounds more like country than the surf style that this album achieved, which I agree is preferred. I do enjoy this version though, very interesting to hear songs you know well in a different way.

@@KRUSTYskates there are two versions of hung at heart on vinyl. one by FatCat records in the UK and one by Everloving records in the USA. you can check on the bottom left corner of your vinyl sleeve. i think you have the american version tho

I disagree, the production on this demo sounds like they took all the soul out of their music. And I like the shorter track list they ended up with, "Someday" was a great choice for an album opener. Who knows, maybe you prefer a more commercialized and basic sound?

Creo que el ser ellos mismos es la esencia de los growlers , y aca se ve demostrado que no es su esencia, siempre estuvieron acostumbrados a trabajar relativamente solos, sin la necesidad de un productor y nos regalaron cosas extraordinarias, ojala lo que venga sea mucho mejor que "City Club"

Pasado pasado, pero lo más relevante es como ya no suenan nada agradables, para mi gusto..

Travis Garman dry, high, yet sweet as pie. It's a nice change when you've heard the originals enough times to recite the lyrics backwards. If you don't like the dry 70s analog feel, then their Chinese fountain and city club are probably more of your style.
