Despite being able to swear like a sailor and a bit of a grouch, Husk certainly knows how to be classy.

Whether or not they go for friends or lovers with them in the series, I'm just glad Angel found someone that can understand him and be there for him.

You know something I noticed is almost all of Angel's songs seem to start with a euphoric/upbeat tone before gradually toning it down towards the end to show his true despair But here it's the opposite Angel starts out being offended by Husk but when he realizes the sentiment he started to sing along and both of them are happy towards the end of the song because they understand despite everything there is someone who understands I take it as a sign that things will get better for both of them

I’ve seen some people criticize this song, saying Husk is telling Angel to “suck it up” cause he’s not the only one with problems, and…I’ve never understood how someone could misinterpret a song so brilliantly. Do I agree that the lyrics make things a bit tone deaf? Yeah, it’s not PERFECT. But with the tone of the song itself, it’s almost impossible not to understand what’s happening here. Husk isn’t invalidating Angel’s trauma or situation with Val, nor is he trying to compare him selling his soul to Alastor to Angel selling his soul to Valentino, and being sexually abused as a result. Husk can’t relate to that, and he doesn’t claim to. But he CAN relate to regretting past choices. He CAN relate to being in an inescapable situation. So while he can’t relate to Angel’s EXACT struggles, he can relate to a certain extent. And that’s what this song is about. It’s a comforter. Yeah Angel’s in deep shit, but he’s not the only one. He’s not alone in his problems, and he doesn’t have to keep being alone when there are people who can say “Me too man, it’s gonna be okay”. Some people are interpreting this song as Husk telling Angel “You’re not the only one with problems, so suck it up and embrace it, you’re not special”. What Husk is REALLY trying to tell Angel is “You’re not alone, and you don’t have to act like you’re alone. You can let your walls down for people who can understand, even slightly. And if you’re gonna be suffering, might as well suffer with a friend”. THAT’S what this song is about.

Maybe i'm reading too deep into it, but during Poison, when Angel danced with Valentino, he was chained to him and being dragged along the whole time. When Husk dances with Angel, he starts by guiding him by the hands, but by the end of it they're dancing in sync without touching at all. Really goes to show the difference between Angel's relationship with both Val and Husk

I love that Husk doesn’t try to sugar coat Angel’s situation. His life is fucked up, and telling him otherwise would be total bullshit. Instead, he tells him straight up that his life is shit, but that that’s okay. As soon as Angel realizes Husk isn’t judging him, his mood shifts and he immediately starts to embrace who he is. Their lives both suck in their own ways, but at least they know they’re not alone :’)

Husk’s Overlord backstory, style, usage of cards, and being voiced by Keith David has formed my headcanon that he’s Dr Facilier after his death in Princess and the Frog.

I love the fact that while dancing, Angel and Husk always 'ask' for consent, (like in 2:30 angel puts his hand like to ask if husk wanted to hold hands with him, it's really cute), which shows how they want to really help eachother in some aspects. While with Val, he just grabs Angel not even thinking about what he's doing. This is awsome❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥

Keith David really likes voicing characters who sell their souls to evil supernatural beings. There was Spawn, Dr. Facilier, and now there's Husk.

I love that Husk actively lifts up Angel’s sexuality in this song, instead of mocking or taking advantage of it like other characters in the show. He’s basically telling him to live his life and celebrate himself despite how shit things are for both of them, that’s amazing!!

I love that in this universe the other characters are consciously aware that the main cast are literally singing and not just singing as a "presentation" for the audience Lmao.

I’ve listening to this on repeat. This has touched me in a way that I don’t feel like anything has ever done to me before. Fighting an impossible battle is what broke me and in this song it feels ok to be a fucked up loser and to just start where you can. This gives me so much hope in humanity.

I love that Husk doesn't try and make Angel feel better by being like, 'You're worth more!' or 'You're better than you think!' because then Angel would see right through it, and instead comforts Angel by basically saying, 'Yes, your afterlife is a mess, but you aren't alone'.

When they are bound with ropes at 2:15 , Angel's rope is chaotic and Husk's is neatly wrapped. Maybe pointing to the nature of their respective "owners". Valentino being an emotional in-the-moment type and Alastor being neat/calculating.

1:24 if you look closely, you can see Husk’s pupils dilate when he look at Angel Dust on occasion, signifying his love for him. Love the small details that Vivzie puts in!

The fact that other characters call out the singing in this series is absolutely great. Like musical numbers are just the norm in hell

Honestly I genuinely never thought Husk would get some depth like this, I just saw him as essentially a gag character or a cynical voice of reason type character. So the fact he got a song like this, especially with the message he has, gives me hope for how the other characters will be played out and developed.
