Losi Promoto: 3 Weeks Later... My Honest Review

Жыл бұрынI have had my Promoto for long enough I feel like I can give an updated review on the bike, and go over some of the things that I felt should be highlighted. Also, the pictures added into the video were taken by members in the facebook group regarding this bike, if you're wanting even more information and links to parts for these bikes, I would recommend joining the groups today!
When ordering a chain from www.nitrochain..., please be sure to order at least 10 master links as this will provide enough fresh links when changing chains. I will provide an update in order to tell how much chain pairs I can make with a 10 foot package. Over time this will end up being cheaper than buying chains from Losi, and be less work to change them out. In total I paid 91.52USD Shipped to Kansas for one 10 foot roll (Plus 1 master link), and 10 Master links (11 total.)

Of course man, I appreciate the feedback! I’m planning some more videos when it’s not 100 degrees out, until then I have some smaller things like temporary replacement tires and things to do for a chain solution that will be out Tuesday, stay tuned! Some other content will be coming out as well 🙂

The breaks don't bother me as bad as the lack of parts available!! If you're going to offer parts then make sure to have them in stock before the bike hits the market,

I agree, I ordered some of the Supermoto tires quite a while ago and I don’t think they’ve even shipped, it’s honestly ridiculous.

id take the bodywork off when new and put replacement stuff on. too bad theres not white bodywork, it would hide the scratches better

With this rc I do deal with rocks getting stuck in the small sprocket gear.

I haven’t dealt with that yet, but the nitro chain system I’m running will make easy changes a lot quicker due to the master link. I was kind of disappointed that Losi didn’t have one on the OEM chain

@LifeOfParc Well, I have gravel rock on my street, and some of the rocks go in the cover and stop the rc down, and i have to open up the side to remove a pebble.

Interesting, I’ve done the same thing with my nearby roads, I must not be noticing it or the bike is just picking up the huge rocks?

@LifeOfParc ya small rocks get wedged inside the sprocket gear and does stop the rc down.

Nah there isn’t anything structurally wrong with the bike, main thing I’ve done is taken the graphics off due to the way I clean my RC’s (Windex+compressed air)

It's weird how people beat on toys and then find it necessary to itemize every little scratch or problem, like they shouldn't really be there. Would you buy a new Corvette, thrash it round a track like a hooligan and then complain about damage on that too?

It’s a little scuffed but I’m wanting to get a black set of plastics and a different jersey set when there are more available. I don’t mind the damage since it’s all cosmetic and shows I mess around with the bike quite a bit. It’s one of 3 RC’s I currently have as well

I bought two Zee 6500mAh 120C from Amazon. I paid $53 dollars. Yes, they actually fit in the bike. I have a question for you. I found out that the range on my stock radio. Is very limited. I ran my bike on an open field. And I kept having range issues. To around 100 feet or so. Is very disappointing. I wish Losi would give us a better option for a radio. Anyway, has anyone had similar problems with range on their radios? I wish I could use my RadioLink link radio. It has tones of range.

Out of the three cars I’ve had (Arrma Typhon, this Losi, and a Lasernut) I haven’t had any range issues, I’ve ran them all the way down my street and they haven’t been out of range at that. I’m glad to see the 6500 120c’s fit, my thing is I’m not wanting to go that high on “C”, I think that’s why people are burning up their flywheels. I’ve seen some people changing their receivers out to other spektrum ones, but I don’t know their results.

That's very likely a broken or damaged antenna, most likely in the receiver. In an open field, it should easily make it far enough that you can't really drive it anymore because you can't tell where it's pointed. If it's not the antenna in the receiver, then it's the transmitter.

@@LifeOfParcESCs or motors don't burn up because of lipos having high c ratings. That's nonsense. The batteries are always supposed to be the largest bottleneck or rather no bottleneck at all. The esc must deliver what the motor needs and the batteries must deliver what the esc needs. Motor

@@AsurasWrath164 A high c rating will kill an esc quick, Think of a c rating as amperage and the ESC is only designed to handle so much flow. esc according to how much current they can handle, so your statement is factually incorrect. You cannot throw any old battery in your ESC.

@@jgrc73 just shut up if you have no clue of electronics. A battery doesn't force its current into an esc. The esc just takes what it demands from the battery.

Yeah the whole lack of replacement parts is actually why I decided to sell it. I had proline Supermoto wheels/tires ordered back when I first got it, but I never got them.

It's an awesome bike but a little over priced and the wheels and tyres are more expensive than my X-Maxx's wheels and tyres which i think is an absolute rip off from Losi.

@@LifeOfParc i don't think zeees charge all the way in a soft shell spektrum battery when you pick it up when it's full it feels firm but in a zeee when it's full there's some wiggle room it's like a 5200 is actually a 4800 or something i'm still gonna run spektrum stuff when i can but never the g2 s

@dirt5547 ive had rc bikes for nearly 20 years, nitros and electric, on road and offroad, I've heard alot of people bad mouthing them simply because they dont know what they are doing, same with rc helis, What exactly makes the promoto junk? Mostly everyone's raving about it with very few criticisms..

@@mark675 as ive stated it’s one of my favorite RC’s, the literally biggest complaint is lack of parts availability. That said I traded mine for another RC, solely due to that reason though. When I know parts become more available I will be getting another. As of now I have a whole new lineup of RC’s and I just need to work out kinks on like 4 out of 5 of them 🤣 only current one that works is my crawler
