Gang! That thing I have been threatening all year is finally upon us: part one of my attempt to predict the winner of the Euros 2024 football competition using the books that I've read from the competing countries.

This is chaotic in the best way!! As a Scot I love seeing Poor Things doing so well (such an excellent book!) but would also be amazed if Scotland wins its group in the Euros 😂

knowing that portuguese authors are not easy to find in english, you've chosen one of our most dificult ones, Hannah... ups 🤭 maybe the winner will be my next read... I'll be waiting for next weeks video!

@@hannahlosttheplot I know you were not buying new books for this project, so that makes it more complicated... Pessoa's work is diferent, but not necessarily in a better position to win this competition 😅 By the way, I know there is a book by Dedalus called Take Six, with six stories by six different portuguese women authors , edited by Margaret Jull Costa. Maybe for the Euro 2028... or maybe not, you need to take care of yourself Hannah 😉

I cannot stand anything about football so when anyone tries to talk to me about Euros this is what I'll be thinking about 👌 this is my euros now, thanks

@@hannahlosttheplot people will be very confused about some of the confidence I have in some of the teams (cough scotland) but they know I know nothing about football so I'm sure that's fine 🙃

Can't wait for the next installment 🎉I'm going to score mine during each game, so not sure what my group stage results will be yet. Germany is definitely winning tomorrow's match. I didn't like Poor Things!
