It's so strange to think about in hindsight. There's a clear before and after LOST. So many shows wouldn't have happened without it.

No, that doesn't make sense. The lockdown wasn't to keep them inside the hatch. There were sirens warning that the doors were going to come down. That isn't how you trap someone. Even if they didn't know what the sirens meant they would after the first time it happened. I don't think there is a good explanation. I thought maybe to keep the button safe but it was on the other side of the doors. Maybe Henry did it to mess with them.

Wait, I always thought the lockdown was triggered by John fooling with the wires on the speaker. He made a short, and the system went wonky. When the numbers were entered, it reset everything, like the breakers too, and the lights went out for that map reveal, then back on.

There used to be a set of four puzzles made with the image from the door on the backside (in four quadrants), hidden in special ink. Whether or not the puzzles' image was accurate to the show? Doesn't really matter as much... was a fun extension of the show I recall. Could only ever find three of the puzzles though.

I'm trying to remember, what was the symbol of the medical hatch Claire was kept in? If it was a caduceus (a symbol well known to be associated with hospitals/medicine), then that would have had snakes on it.

There actually was a shot where someone was inspecting the lights before but I don't remember who. I think it was Charlie or Sayid

Sayid and Michael did do a pretty in-depth inspection of the place at first. They checked out the computers in the dome, noticed the magnetic field and blast doors and Sayid even went under the floor to try and get inside the sealed off area. Unfortunately, whilst they know a lot of what stuff is there, they don't really know what any of it is for or how to use it. So maybe they did notice the blacklights, but with no way to operate them they don't really help much. And honestly, since the only thing the black lights show is a map that 1 guy did on his own in his spare time, they otherwise don't do anything. We still don't know why Dharma installed them, and without knowing how to bring the blast doors down nobody would see anything anyway.
