In this vlog I show you how to use the launch control settings and how the car reacts to each of them. I don't recommend at any time taking the traction control system off the C7 Z07 and then flooring it because it will get away from you.

Chuck, tried it over the weekend with the Grand Sport. Went as straight as an arrow. First and last time, no doubt it can become addicting. I like the part in the video where you show everyone that without the Traction control and Stabilitrak how things can get out of control. Sort of like "Buyer beware" . Another informative volg. Its a good time but if you want the best time just like it up and floor it. I wasn't as impressed with Launch control as I thought I was going to be. Its a great feature but I like just warning up the tires and flooring it. 👊👍😎

Now that your ZR1 has been delivered, you need to try this at your local drag strip on a test and tune day. There is a lot of satisfaction in a perfect launch, then a time slip to prove what your car can do. Great video! 👍

I'm new to this channel. As a mechanic, I was initially skeptical when I saw you in your garage (thought this was like chrisfix. He's a smart guy, but from a professional auto tech's viewpoint, he does a lot of wrong things, and some times misinforms people about how to do certain repairs, or backing something like AC pro, which it's main component is ammonia), but now am a fan! Loving it

Very good vid. My '17 Camaro ZL1 is just about at break-in and first fluid change, and I want so badly to get out and play with it and use the launch control. My biggest problems have been: Lack of experience doing it; and finding an appropriate location. I think the second can be the bigger challenge. I am trying to find a similar place - commercial property that is empty on weekends, not a public road. My automotive videos are not well received because that's not what my viewers expect, but I still might have to drag the cameras along when I finally do it. I appreciate your video here, demonstrating the process and results. The Camaro computer and controls are very similar, so it translates. Subbed.

WOW...I feel embarased typing this Chuck! This was a kick ass video for me. I haven't even read the manual and did not know these capabilities of the Z06. I just didn't have time for the salesman to tell me all the features and I didn't have the time to play with the car. Thanks for all these lessons you are giving the new owners. Hey Chuck! Im not exactly new the the channel but I wanted to say hi anyway. Question about the launch control, what is the difference between sport 1 and 2? They seemed to be identical. Also I wanted to ask if you have a "everything you must know" video about the Z06. I'm thinking about getting one and I'd like some better information. Something like a breakdown of the packages (LZ1 2 3 etc) and what all comes with the Z07 pack, etc. Thanks for the great channel and awesome videos!! BTW, I'm a mustang guy currently lol. Car looks beautiful chuck. The more I see your interior the more I lean towards the zo6. I can't decide quite yet between the zo6 and Jaguar F-Type R. They do say the the jag is a more luxury version of the zo6. Keep up the great videos and I love the content.

Great video and very helpful info, I just bought a 2017 Z06 and of course I didn't read the manual. What's worse is I had a 2016 Stingray back in 2016 and I am sure it was the same process. This is meant with no disrespect to you but I am disappointed that you couldn't drop it down to the low 3's. Again, I own this same car and have already realized traction is a serious issue. I had a 2017 NSX for a few months (was stolen) and I was able to pull 4 seconds flat in extremely low temps with all 4 tires spinning at launch and then shifting to 2nd gear. Great videos though!

My 2016 z06 auto sport 2 92 degrees 3.8. At 75 degrees 3.6! Maybe not 2.9 butt it's quick enough for me! Love your vids.

That's interesting to see what effect the outside air temperature has on the supercharger's performance. Do you happen to know your elevation for these runs (that can make a big difference as well)? I'd bet if you made a run this morning here in Oklahoma (at 600 ft above sea level and 55 degrees F) your times would be even lower. Thanks for the stats Robert and drive safe out there.

The cooler temps helps out big time. This was done in 95 and hight humidity. Will do the same video in November and the times will be fast but if you really want the best 60 time just line up and don't use launch control and just floor it. I normally do 3.5 or less and like you said Robert anything under 4 is moving.

Driving tip. Place your hands at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock on the steering wheel for better control. Your 10 & 2 grip looks awkward. Enjoyed the vid, though.

Black mamba is a sexy looking beast but, honestly it doesn't appear to be all that fast off the line. Having had a 406 stroker in a Camaro, It ran GREAT!!! 0-70 IN 1st, 70-120 in 2nd, & all of that acceleration happened in mere seconds! It was a 1/8 mile car 0-70 happened in a flash & as you shift into 2nd, your already over 70 mph & that would only take maybe 3 seconds! My brother bought a 79 z-28 w/1973 sb400 bored .030 over weizgal stroker crank, Amber lightweight pistons 11/1 compression, circle track cam "offroad use" from summit(sorry, I don't remember the lobe & duration)! aftermarket aluminum heads ported & polished(even the shop who ported them was amazed at how well they flowed!) roller rockers! holley 750 dbl pumper w/manual secondaries, th400 w/new valve body & shift kit, 373 gears, it screamed from 0-150 not much could touch it from 0-100!! my brother sold it & I have never forgave him for it, I TOLD HIM, IF HE EVER NEEDED TO SELL IT, CALL ME 1ST!!! THO, MY PHONE NEVER RANG. I would love to run it against a new vette & Camaro if I had it!!! I did run it against a 1997 corvette w/7k miles on it & it was no comparison! left that vette like it was sitting still! now, if it had been a rolling race from 80mph & on, I am sure the result may had been different, it needed a fuel injection kit added to it & then it would have really of been a weapon!!! love your corvette's! well, yours & your wife's!!! The black mamba is really slick looking! idk about the red seats? My dad bought a white 92 eclipse g.s. in 91 & he ordered red interior!

The launch mods are not meant to be real fast just makes he car safer from a dig. Take it out of the modes and it’s much faster. It’s rated for 2.9 seconds in the 0-60

Hey chuck ! Love thr vids man keep em coming ! Huge vette fan. My first car was a 96 black on black convertible last if the C4s! Handed down by my dad who has owned something like 15 corvettes over his lifetime. Currently daily driving a C63 AMG with a 6.2 Liter V8 making appx 550hp @ Crank would love to share it at the end sometime but dont know if you only use Vettes? Have a good week man!

I know gm states 0-60 in 2.95 I saw your times about 3.80 Mines the same only way to get it to hook up proper without being on a prepared surface(drag strip)is to take off traction control hit the brakes and light up the tires then I can do 3.10-3.20 0-60.but had my fun with that at 500 a tire dont really need to put on a smoke show to gain a few 10ths enjoy your z nice video.

Yea, the 2.9 is with everything prefect and cup 2 tires. ITs fun to feel the rush of the going 0-60 but like you said I am not burning up some tires for some times.

Chuck, one of your best Videos, Just you and the car. I have a 17 ZL1 and I knew that it had the race modes but was unaware that it locked out the rpm's ... I will try it tomorrow and see if it launches at 1500 and 2000 rpm. Also, I love when the videos are around that 10 minute range as anything longer kinda keeps me away from watching. Again, Great video and what was your 0-60 times? The best I have with my stock zl1 is 3.4 (track mode with traction off and launching at 1750 rpms, 10speed auto)

👊👍. I am working on 11min or less videos. What allot of people don't know about KZfaq is that KZfaq heavily promotes videos that are over 10 min long for smaller channels. Now if you have 500K and do a 7 min video youtube will still promote it because of your audience but if you are growing a channel they look down on shorter videos. So definitely you won't see anymore 15 plus min videos from me. They take a long time to edit and I agree I like shorter videos myself. The 60 times were on the PDR clips in the video. Well, The ZL1 is different for sure. I found the same options but when launching the RPM's would not stop at the desired RPM's. I was pushing the brake super hard and the car just powered through the rpm's. I do like the launch control on the vette. I will keep playing with it and see if it is hidden some where else in the menu. again love this video... have a great day Update: I found the launch control... lol... Thanks Chuck

Excellent video...very concise and covered the real information. I just bought a 3k miles '16 vert Z06 few days ago and have not yet really played with her. Looks like fun with the nanny electronics off. I have to say one thing though, your Track/race/sport 3 level launch control run I believe showed 0-60 in 3.8 secs...the published Chevy times are 2.95 with Road and Track saying 3.00...is that because traction control was off?
