Watched with pleasure! Great summary Kyrin! I appreciated your comment on the woman's resilience and that you highlighted the fact that she dealt with all her hardships and heartbreaks without failing and that she could be a great example for some other characters.

I am an Omani literature student, so I read the book in Arabic and English. I can understand that the uncompleted sentences cannot be comprehended-sometimes-. But these are called fragments that flows through the stream of consciousness which is a postmodern style of writing. It reflects the human nature of language (especially the multimodal aspect of human interaction).

Even the best of translators will struggle with certain portions as well. I'm reading an Australian classic and some of the words in it are so niche that only someone born and raised here would really be able to comprehend the spirit of what is being said. But we all can try our best. Amazing that you read it in both languages. Did you prefer the original in arabic?

So true. Some cultural element are lost in translation. I cannot really judge because I will sound racist because I love my mother language which is normal hahah. And I feel more attached to it in Arabic.. However, when it also come to English novels such as Stoner by Williams, I cannot feel this kind of attachment in the translated version of it. @@MereMortalsBookReviews
