Mr. Goodpliers takes a walk around 1940s to 80s collector Ford, Buick, Chevy, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Cadillac, and Dodge cars and trucks! Fred's used car lot was started in 1952, and hundreds of unsold, trade-in, and highway towed vehicles remained in the decades after!
This video was shot April of 2023, and many of the cars have been moved out of the trees. Around one fifth of these cars have been sold. Scott, the new owner, can be reached at 620 330 6815. He is only available weekends at this location.

My neighbor passed away about ten years ago and he was in his nineties in the family didn't want anyting. Consequently I now have all of his pictures of his first wife and his second wife and his motorcycles and his cars ..... When you live to be in your 90s .. he had lived quite a wild and unique life.... From soldier to cop to business owner..etc

It's fantastic that you took the time to save those old photos. A lot of people forget that before the digital age, unless you took very good care of the negatives, if something happened to damage your photos, they were lost.

Mr. B. Here ! LOL ! Most young people today asking to use their hands & mines to bring back any of these vehicles would look at anyone of us like we have 12 heads ! I viewed channel that a plain Olds Cutlass S 4 door , 1978 it was a ugly car when it was new , the car itself was in good shape, many have belong to little old lady , no radio - no dents - 260 cid engine . This vehicle was nice to save and use as a daily driver ! Sad to report engine rip out out - then crushed ! The iPhone and many of the devices today has taken away people to use their mine ! Stills of working with your hands mind is slowly being lost .

@Mr. Goodpliers I truly appreciate your walkthrough videos! I can’t get out there and look at these old cars and trucks anymore like I used to but back when I was 15 up until my late thirties it’s all I lived for. I’m a lot like you! I know so much about so many old cars and trucks because I lived, breathed and studied them since I was a little kid. I’ve always been fascinated by the old classics. I built my first truck which was a 1954 Chevy 5 window when I was 15 years old. My dad drug it home on a trailer as just a body and frame back in 1986. I spent a whole year putting that truck together all by myself with no help. Back then the old ‘47-‘54 parts trucks could be spotted in almost every field and behind almost every barn, shed or garage. They could be bought cheap too. So I saved money, bought and bartered for all the parts I needed and eventually had my first truck running and driving. I drove it all through high school and long after. I wouldn’t trade all the blood, sweat and tears I shed for anything! Much appreciation for your videos! Please keep them coming! Love see what’s still out there!

Another fun Mr. GP video. The Jeepster is a '50 or a '51 (leftover '50's were sold as '51's). My dad restored a '50, his pride and joy until he died in '06 so I'll always have a soft spot for those. That blue one looks really complete. The Jeep wagon is a '46 - '49 with the flatter grille and no horizontal bars. The one in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World was a "50 - '64 with the pointier nose. Take care and keep the videos comin'.

About two years ago, I went to an estate sale and found a whole box full of old 8mm film reels, that I gave $5 for. I have been able to view some of the movies - but many were too far gone to feed through a projector. One reel had an old school house ( I seem to remember the date was 1942 ) with all the children playing in the school yard. It was very sad because at this estate sale was also many old photo albums and even a wedding dress. Sad - that there were no family members or relatives that wanted any of it after the elderly couple had passed away.......kind of what my future holds as well.

That lovely blue pickup truck with the work bed and ghost sears markings would make a cool history piece. I don’t imagine many old repair or service trucks from Sears have survived from any era. It would be very cool to clean up and redo the logo for posterity. Not that’s it’s terribly unique as simply a service truck but being one from sears ads a bit if undoubtably unique hometown history to it. Oh and happy you showed a few of the Cadillacs in there, hope to see more of them in future videos too!

The days of hoarding 50 plus year old cars out in the element for decades is quickly coming to a close. The remaining decent cars need to go to good homes, for reasonable prices, where they can be stored indoor, preserved, and brought back into shape. Otherwise, these cars are just going to rust and waste away to the point that they will not have any value other than scrap within the next decade. I believe that there are already more existing decent cars remaining than people who are either interested in owning them or financially able to restore and maintain them. If the current cost of living problems continues or degrades, the issue will only continue to worsen, and cars that are in decent condition today will suffer in the coming decades, as prices rise and interests diminish.

There have been some big changes happening at the Rust Ranch, with organization in mind. I'll try to catch some footage there this winter when the foliage dies off

They are really tough to find. What condition and price range do you have in mind? I have one 1972 Kingswood Estate parts car and two Oldsmobile drivers. Those two were the most I've ever paid for any vehicle out of the over 1,000 I've owned in my lifetime

The yard had some cars crushed for iron over the last several decades, and some sold for projects, but these survived until now

Before you showed the full size Pontiac grand prix. To your left I saw the quick image of a Ford pinto front end. Is this vehicle available?

Good eye, I wouldn't have noticed. That yellow Pinto shown at 5:23 would be a '74 or '75 judging from the bumper and grill. the white Pinto shown 4 minutes is likely a '74 as it doesn't have spaced lettering Ford script. The other white Pinto at the end of this video is a '77 or '78, new hatch and new lights.

Some of them did get the press - about ten years ago, several hundred vehicles were processed and hauled away to the iron yard
