Bruh this animatic is just full with so much Disney spirit and charm. It also so funny when it tries to be and not try to be. The jokes are spot on. And the voice from everyone (beside Sora and Riku in some cases) is godlike, especially Goofy. This is just incredible. I saw the original video in my recommendation but didn’t watch it. Should have before it got taken down

Since we now live in a world where adaptations of video games have been getting a bit better. And the Seeker of darkness saga being done I kinda hope they return to this idea. making a cartoon about kingdom hearts would be interesting.

I love that certain parts of this pilot (specifically Riku grabbing the lamp opening a portal for the heartless) made me go “what? Why??”. It’s just like the original games!

Given how popular Kingdom Hearts was and still is to day would you think Disney would've instantly said yes to an animated series to further cash in on the franchise.

There should be a law that if you dont use something for a specific amount of time, it becomes public domain. It is absolutely stupid that things like this get locked away never to be used. It shouldnt even matter if Disney is making a new KH show, because besides fans of the games this isnt going to take anything away from the announcement. But I am at least glad once something is on the internet, you would have to move kingdom come to take it down forever.

This show could’ve been a darker version of Disney’s house of mouse mixed with avatar: the last Airbender and the dragon Prince.

Seeing this animatic remind me Amphibia a lot. With this kid who was send in an other world, meet new friends including one voicing by Goofy VA , learn how to be a hero, must fight a child friend who work for the evil, the hero even has a photo of their friends and is sad for their absence.

This would have been such a good show.

This is spectacular!! It's weird that it skips over Sora meeting Donald and Goofy, and that Sora somehow already has the Keyblade at the start, but I suppose those are reasonable shortcuts for a pilot.

I really wish we could see what a finalized version of this could look like. I think the most finished thing here is the outside shot of disney castle. Its the only glimpse into what could've been the final product's artstyle.

Imagine if we got this, we would’ve had the possibility of the franchise’s plot actually making sense like the first game and it probably would’ve sparked an interest in the entertainment industry to faithfully adapt video game adaptations sooner, had it been successful. I worry if modern Disney decides to make a KH adaptation now, they’ll just get it wrong. Hoping one day they at least give Square Enix permission to make an anime.

Surprisingly pretty decent pilot! I still have my problems with it though. I think the Jiminy Cricket narration would’ve gotten really old if it was a full length series and sense it’s a 11 minute episode, it had to rush and squeeze a lot of it’s narrative as fast as they can because of it’s runtime and unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time in the Aladdin world. But maybe all these problems would’ve been ironed out in the actual series if it was given the 22 minute treatment. Who knows. I kinda wanted to see the finalized art style of Sora because I can get an idea of what Donald and Goofy might’ve looked like because when this was supposed to come out, but I would’ve like to see how Western Disney animators translating an anime-esk into the usual Disney style. All I know is that this pilot was Okay.

This could be such a nice and light way to get kids into kingdom hearts!!! (let's be honest, the game is confusing and heavy XD) i'm guessing that Sora would run into Riku in every episode (each corresponding to a different world) and Riku would slowly become a villain after every episode, getting jealous of Goofy and Donald and being brainwashed by maleficent until the last episodes in hollow bastion that they fight and then Sora goes to the realm of darkness and Riku becomes good again (maybe adding a little talk about how sorry he is). Ngl i was excited while watching the pilot, even though it's 11min long, it doesn't feel that short, it summarizes part of the story and i feel it would have been a mayor success!!
