Its reverse psychology. They take notes and dont ask questions. Its important! The people they are watching think its the up most impotance.. All the tubes when to no where. They are the test subjects not the other stations.

The people in the pearl where actually being the ones being experimented apon. And the point to pressing the button is, when the dharma people had their "incedint" they actually hit a massive pocket of energy, and the only way to contain it was to build the swan station over it, once they push the button the energy is converted and used to power everything they have on the island, when the key is turned it cuts off the energy conversion process and the energy then implodes the swan afterwords.

I always figured that that was the point. The Pearl being the psychological experiment, not the Swan. It was the Pearl that were being testing to do something "important".

He says "At the end of your 8 hour shift, proceed to Pala fairy, which will take you back to the barracks, where you will prepare for your next...." and then it cuts off. It all makes sense.

Maybe there were shifts. You were scheduled for station 1-5, and the sixth station is either nothing important or they tell you what all the other stations' true meanings are (like how number 5 was actually the test, not the other 4.)

that was cool that they had video tracking to make it look real, however the tracking when the video starts to spazz out is fake. That looks more like tracking that would occur with an analog television set. Video tapes arent usually that fuzzy (soundwise) when they wear out like that.

Oh come on, i love season 1 & 2's character dev too, but everyone hates on the later ones, 3 went in to the others, 4-5 had mercenary battles/DHARMA reveals/timeskip radness & 6 had alpert/jacob flashbacks & was brutal.. LOST was kickass its whole run, most people that rag on it are too retarded to follow it or came in late, & get confused by flashbacks/timeskips but ya, the pearl was a mindfuck, a whole station for a psych test..(while the orchid has time travel/displacement haha)
