for me, its the same as the sims franchise. They drove away every part of their audience that isn't into this sort of thing and forced their product into a niche. There's a good part and a bad part to that.

You can absolutely follow the examples of your inspiration without stealing from them, knowing that there’s a 27 year timeskip doesn’t tell us a damn thing and I have faith that LIS will add a unique twist.

That was one of the coolest parts about Life is Strange, we were really involved in the story and looking for clues about where the story would go next!

Theme-wise, based on the characters, the Life is Strange games and potential plot, I believe one of if not the main theme is going to be of regret, assuming what happened is negative and their upholding a conflicted promise 27 years later. My guess is the blonde pony tail might have died, since we don't see her behind the group when they're running. Except, she is outside the burning building, so I guess a tree might have felt on top of her afterwards. She may have been left injured, burned or maybe uninjured. Although, it's hard to imagine a promise two decades later, revolving around that purple phenomena without having literally changed something about one of them, if not the past if they affected time (traveled) somehow, or someone else. Whoever lived in that burning building. If there's time travel, (note the doe looking at them running, similar to Max's spirit animal when she time traveled) -Maybe they were in a time loop of that pony girl dying, trying to save her, and simply stopped trying 27 years later.- but then I'd imagine the promise line to sound more dramatic if it was that. I don't know. Something negative, random time rewind, and they couldn't change it for the better.- -Except that would revert to time theory where Chloe was supposed to die, or else the city is destroyed, which would be weird if that happens again... because then they should call it Life is Strange... damn, I don't know anymore, lol.- I'm almost certain there's going to be time travel from that purple light. The description also has "through time" in it. Otherwise, theme-wise, somewhat coming of age, unfulfillement of the present from their drama of being a successful band. Obviously drama. Bond of friendship. Maybe, probably romance. ... Rage is in the title, so there will be blame for either that friend dying or somehow failing their dream.
