Trey had a good time playing with the doods he used to worship in his teenage years. Righ guy, right place, right chords, right time.

sounds great, God bless Bob Weir... driving that train tilll the wheels fall off, and whoevers left feel free to dance on our graves, ashes to inspiration to destruction and back to ashes. haven't we all been too lomg at sea now and again.... going on a dream, or just some hopeless feeling...

Hahaha pretty freaking close! Trey looked pretty deep and dirty there for a few measures... Love that carrot head bobbing... That dark star Stephan in SC night one was liquid-dripped professionalism but this jam where Trey almost took a Jerry lope, puts this Saint is on top in terms of sick lick playing value at 50th... Oh and Bobs all, I'm gonna change out this little here guitar for this next one, with a pump fist, for this finger pointing gem

Trey was playing it safe on all these shows but man did he still hit the mark on sooo many things! And I'm a Jerry head also

But it's good to hear Trey play with restraint. He approached this project academically & didn't show-boat (no face-melting). I thought he played emotionally & mature. I was impressed how he didn't play over Weir while trying to compliment & bring out his playing at the same time. Weir's hard to listen to because he's subtle & hides in the mix of things. Trey brought Weir's playing to the forefront where you could hear him more distinctly. But Trey was his signature self & brought out the gritty & ballsy aspect of the Dead. Politics aside, Trey was the best choice & did a great job.

I thought Weir was TOO high in the mix for most of the shows. Crazy Fingers was a prime example of this.

I was there for all 3 nights of this. Bob picked up the wrong guitar for this song. He then gestured to Bill and Mickey he was good also His microphone was too high. He kept gesturing to turn his microphone down and also to Trey when he was to come in there in the first part of the song

They really connect & build momentum here. The first set was shaky. After "drums" into "Stella Blue", they begin to lock in with each other. They gradually become more aggressive & confident towards the end. This was a good show to listen to.

i didnt get to make it to these shows unfortunately, some phish kid prolly bought my ticket, doh! did they do fireworks like in '95? with star spangled banner?BTW i love sailor > saints. i always thought trey and bruce were my dream picks from whose still around.."maybe a face you never see now" I'm sure Trey did rehearse, they probably rehearsed a couple times together in northern california or maybe the rehearsals were just the Santa Clara shows. BTW, if you went to these shows because you thought it was the last time they'd perform together your opinion means nothing to me. I go by what the band says, not promoters with their own shortsighted agendas.

I have such warm feelings for each one of these gentlemen. Funny side thought - Can you imagine the look on Phil's face when Bob told him he hired Josh Mayer. Then a pause, then a bemused chuckle, followed by a disbelieving head shake.

I am sorry but this is the worst saints ever! Bob should not be playing a Strat either.. Trey was the only one who practiced for this show BTW.. Should of just propped Gerrys body up on stage for christ sake cause he sure rolled right out of the grave... Glad i didnt go to these shows!

Don K Kong Have you forgotten about the black Strat he used 84-85? Or the pink one he used 88-89? Then the black again 1990 and onward? Some great playing and great shows with those. Playing a Strat was hardly the reason for his problems for sure, but yeah that Saint was not very good....
@donkkong55519 жыл бұрын
I forgot Jerry was cremated, sorry George Clark.. I am just dissappointed that these shows weren't more rehearsed, there communication on stage was bad. I dont like when Bob noodles on guitar he is a rhythm player and the tone he had was bad,, It was just painful for me to watch some of this i feel bad for Trey..
