Welcome to "That Philippines Life" - The Dream Will Have To Wait, Lost The Beach House! Well my dream continues to living on a house ont he beach, the one I made an offer on went totally sideways and I am back to square one now with just 13 days left until I move out of my House in Iloilo. Hopefully I can find another ont he beaches of Roxas City Capiz, If not I will just travel for a couple months across the country to see what else is out there.

Next time when you negotiate for a house or something have a local person represent you. Prices in the Philippines go higher when they see foreigners do business with them.

From 35K to 80K Pesos is ridiculous!! The owners are NOT negotiating in good faith. The house is a fixer-upper, for goodness sake. It would've eaten your time, money, and energy. That's why I thought it wasn't right for you. ... Could you temporarily rent from that nice place you stayed in? You really don't need a house since you're always on the go right now. Keep dreamin', Michael. There's one out there for you. 🏡 🏖

Good luck! Bohol and Dumaguete are beautiful and a lot more affordable. I don’t know anything about Roxas City since I grew up in Cebu, but I highly suggest, Dumaguete or Bohol.

Since you are traveling anyway... here is a tip I heard about. Check out the area of Daet and the beach area of Bagasbas Beach. I heard it is low cost, quiet and a nice beach. I haven't been there yet.

There are still many good places near the beach out there. 80k a month is too much especially there are many things thats needs to be fixed in the house and it is not even fully furnished.

Next time, don't show excitement for the place, and don't post a video about how incredible it is until AFTER the agreements are signed. Also, I think you need to find a place where the sand is soft, water calm, and has great nightlife, like maybe Moalboal. Or live on a boat and move your "house" around. 😁

Tha's ridiculously high for that house🙄!!!! No one will rent that 1-bedroom house. You'll be able to find the perfect house, just be patient. That resort is absolutely gorgeous!!!

So sorry your plan fell through. Agree for 80,000P a month you could rent a mansion hear in Roxas City. I am going to make my offer tomorrow for a place close to the beach waking distance I wanted one more night to sleep on it. My plan is to do it face to face sometime tomorrow. Good luck my friend.

As a fix it up property even 20K is high, in a country comprised of Islands, beach property isn't that hard to find... You need a place that's more move in ready.

Just be glad you didn't get involve with this group of landlords. That place looked like a huge money pit to me. And they might have increased your rent by quite a bit without notice while you were renting. You need to find an honest landlord. It sounds like a beach house might be in order for you when you setttle down a bit. You're traveling around these days so it's probably best to hold off on renting a house in one place.

You are already in Palawan, with it's long coastline you can find a better and cheaper rentals with a sunset view just stay out of those touristy area.

Mi have two friends who have lived here who now live in Iloilo they got bored after a while so as a KZfaq vlogger who needs non stop unique content I'm not sure Palawan is the right place. Roxas city really sold me because you have the airport 2km from the beach and the same with the Sm Mall and lower cost of living. Really hard to find. I haven't given up yet

I guess the basic rent for an apartment around Roxas is P20K a month as long as its just a min walk to the beach...beachfront is way too expensive wherever u go! Will u consider looking for an apartment along the blvd near SM Roxas and Gaisano City?...not beachfront though maybe you'll find a good deal...

Reminds me of Phuket horror stories 20 years ago. Landowner asks 500k baht. With registration. But when the real deal had to happen, it was just rounded up to 1 m baht. Easier to calculate 😅 So no deal. Next!

From my experience there, I suffered in the old places I rented , bugs ate me , fire ants poisoned me ate holes in my clothes and got in my food too , and there a constant fight . your air con will not work well , the utilities will be high because its old poorly built. Try to find new . I knowit's not easy, but we eventually found a large 2 bedroom brand new apartment for 10 k in Olongapo, not beach 20 minutes away, but It really made a big difference being new and sealed properly.

Gee, is it really so bad to live on the road in paradise. That’s what I do when I visit SE Asia. I only book the first 3 days to get over jet lag then I move on to wherever I decide. You’ll find the right place you just have to keep looking
