Hi Mark, thanks for the great video. Impressive set-up. Clean and well organized. You have the process down to a science and it shows in your cast bronze pieces. Just wondering why you chose classic plaster investment rather than ceramic shell? Is this for an architectural company? Thanks.

Hi thanks for your comment. Sorry for late reply. we use 3 different sizes of flask for our castings small/tall/big I’m not sure of the exact measurements but for the burnout temperature we set the oven to run up to 720 degrees and that takes a few hours to reach then will sit at 720 degrees for about 12 hours and then come down to 460 degrees ready for us to pour the metal into the flask. I hope that helps and any more questions don’t hesitate to ask ! Thanks🙂

Instead of taping up the holes on the flasks, why don´t you cast a silicone rubber sleeve type of thing. You could then simply put that sleeve over the flask in one go and save time for all the flasks this would add up.

@robpark93
@robpark93 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes and then the wax melts away in the oven which leaves the pattern inside the flask/investment. The air bubbles gets vacuumed out in the mix beforehand and we don’t get air bubbles form the liquid metal that only happens in the mix from my experience. Oh wow that’s awesome I’m happy you was able to get so much value from the video. Good luck with the course 👌😎
