I really needed to hear this! I have a brick and mortar store AND I'm opening a decor booth at a Vendor mall. I've been procrastinating about getting consistent with social media. I'm just so busy running my Consignment shop solo! I know that I need to carve out some time to do this! I know that it will make a huge difference in my business. I'm an introvert and getting in front of the camera isn't something that I'm thrilled about. Thanks for this video! You're such an inspiration!

Hi Melanie! I have a question for you. I watch your videos for your encouragement and inspiration. I have a brick and mortar store and I rent out booths to people for crafts instead of antiques. What would you suggest I purchase for lighting and a phone/camera holder to do some lives or tutorials? There's so much to choose from and I thought you would have figured out some that work best. (Also, there's no search option to find certain topics on your videos.)

❤️❤️❤️ the content of this video. Thank you! I do have a question about having a business page and/or a group. I have struggled with getting participation on a page, so started a group. Things started well on the page but have had difficulty in eliciting conversation as time goes on. My question is about how to have great content on both a page and group without too much duplication of content?
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I also have a group, and have struggled more with group participation that participation on my page. I think it really comes down to being yourself and authentic. And I know it might sound cheesy, but being positive. I do think people are more likely to interact with positive content than they are with negative content (I’m sure you’re doing that already!) and remember, not everybody sees everything you post. It may feel like it’s a lot of duplication to you, but most likely your followers are only seeing a tiny bit of whatever goes up in your group or in your page.

@LostFoundDecor

Ugh, that's super frustrating! I will say though that Instagram is a different beast than Facebook! In my experience, that audience wants different things, mainly inspiration (beautiful photos) and entertainment (silly reels). Facebook is where I go to build community with my customers and where I share my selfies, kids photos, etc. On Instagram I keep it more product focused with edited, staged photos. On my stories I can toss in more casual stuff, but not in my feed or the same thing happens. Just remember, not all social medias are the same and want the same thing. They all need different types of posts to do well, and for this video I focus my recommendations on what does well on Facebook :)

Very insightful! But I was just curious to know can an antique booth survive without face book or social media or it is very much a necessity to having a booth and making it work?
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Grace! It depends on your goal-is your booth a hobby? For a little “fun money” now and then? Or are you looking to build it into a business for consistent income? If the latter, then you will need to find some way to connect with customers and market your brand. Of course, it also depends some on the mall you’re in. If you in a rockstar mall with a huge, loyal customer base, you can probably do well not marketing yourself and let your booth benefit from the overall mall foot traffic. But even then, I think you’re missing an opportunity to grow and connect if you don’t have some social media or online presence-some way for customers to find you and become your fans :)

@@LostFoundDecor I haven’t yet done a booth but was thinking of going from my online EBay shop to a booth on the weekends. Since I have a full time job already. If I can make it and it works for me I can see myself leaving my full time job if I can make a living with a booth. But my other question is besides the thrift stores where do you find such nice vintage furniture? I never run into that at the thrift stores and that seems to be where you make your income besides the vintage decor and paint. And how often do you have to shop to source all the items for sale in your shop?

Furniture is really a hit and miss business for me. Sometimes I find a lot, sometimes it’s slow and I don’t get good pieces for awhile. In my Booth Seller Bootcamp, we talk a lot about how to spread out your inventory, and that it’s really the smalls selling every day that add up to your regular income. I do look on FB Markeptplace, Estate Sales, and outdoor flea markets for furniture as well :)

I actually have a lot of “friends “and interaction on my personal Facebook page, but not so much on my business decor page. Any tips how to build more on my home decor page? I’ve gotten a few by sharing my home decor page post to my personal page.
@LostFoundDecor
@LostFoundDecor 2 жыл бұрын
Start by inviting every person you think may be interested in what you do. Then do the two things we talked about here-post consistently, at least once a day, and post content that will invite engagement. Every time someone comments, reply to them. Ask questions, invite people to offer their opinions, do anything that you can to get the people that are on there to interact with you. It takes a while for momentum to start, but doing that over and over and over again Will help your page start to come to life and grow. There really is no short cut, it just takes time, and building engagement on a daily basis :)
