Great story. No unnecessary details and to the point. Awesome!

I don't know about now days but 30 years ago when I was in the Marines (while I do admit that cheating was rampant) it was a crime in the UCMJ to commit adultery with another serviceman's wife especially if you have proof. He could have cost them at least their careers if not some brig time.

That happens to military members more often than not, they should not get married before being deployed over seas, although in this day and age with the high divorce rate, they shouldn't get married at All

My first Commanding Officer required all of the first termers to come to see him or the First Sgt before getting married. He was not saying they could not get married, just wanted to speak to them before doing so. That talk must have been a good one because several airmen decided not to get married. I also learned something interesting that to be fair I have not confirmed yet. Before a US Navy Strike Group returns to port there is a marked increase in dependant wives getting shots of antibiotics.

Funny how the guys LAWYER’s first statement is she doesn’t work for cheaters. Hard to tell if it was a warning or she automatically assumed he cheated on his wife before wanting a divorce. If she didn’t clarifying which to me, I’d have gone to a different firm for the divorce (trust works both ways and he had ALL the evidence he needed, easy paycheck for the lawyer for filling out simple paperwork).

Exactly, she assumed that he was the adulterous one! He should have found a lawyer that was in reality! 90 percent of wives commit adultery while their husbands are overseas!

Article 134 of the UCMJ is a "catch-all" article used basically to avoid loopholes etc. Anybody who wants to fully understand how the military actually handles adultery should research how the Air Force handled the Kelly Flinn case. Yes, article 134 can be used but there are MORE than 6 aspects to it. I have heard that some military members have had conduct unbecoming used against them as well. If you want to foul up a military person's life for doing this I highly suggest getting some proof and making an appointment with a JAG officer. Either way, you are going to have to convince the convening authority to order an Article 32 investigation. This is NOT something JAG can do on their own. As far as punishment the last time I heard of a Military member being punished was when a Navy deck ape was brought to Capts Mast and fined $500 plus extra duty, NOT because he committed adultery, but because he disobeyed his dept officer's orders to stop doing it. As I said, speak to JAG and they will go see somebody in the unit. I discourage going directly to the unit.

This story should be a screenplay. Totally Different from AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN or TOP GUN. Let's title it, " CODE OF JUSTICE ".

I’m pretty sure I would’ve ABSOLUTELY LAID into that lawyer Sally for IMMEDIATELY assuming that I was a cheater! He was seeking a divorce & Sally had NO IDEA what the reason(s) were, so to say that she doesn’t represent cheating spouses was beyond reprehensible, insulting, judgmental, unprofessional, degrading & belittling!! If I knew their were other lawyers that were as good as if not better than Sally, I would’ve brought her to tears through shame & embarrassment!

How in the hell can the SIL asked if he can get over this and the wife say it not what it seems. Adultery is still a crime under the UCMJ and the military does punish under it.
