I’ve had the privilege of travelling to Newfoundland and Labrador four times. Part of one trip included a five day coastal trip along the south shore, west of the Burin Peninsula. One afternoon was spent fishing (with rods, so not jigging) for cod. My daughter and I fished while my wife took photos. Our guide/captain kept us safe during pretty rough seas and lots of rain. We caught our limit. One of the great joys of our lives. We still talk about it 13 years later. There’s no where I would rather be.

I find myself wondering if your father and grandfather introduced you and your brothers (and sisters?) to the great outdoors and if you grew up fishing and hunting and foraging with them. You’re so self-sufficient and comfortable whether on land or on the water and so appreciative and respectful of all that nature provides. It’s a real pleasure to go with you on your adventures.

i did not say in a hurtfull way at all. It's just that the cod trap fish are small. Back in the early 80's when I fished cod traps and gillnetted we usually catch an average cod about 8 to 10 pounds before gutting ,heading , splitting and put in the salt bult.
