I was very young when Mr. Rizzo was Mayor. I do remember my parents and other people speaking highly of him and the job he was doing. In researching Mr. Rizzo I can say that like many figures in history, he was the right person at the right time. If cities today had a mayor like Mr.Rizzo, I feel they would be better places to live. Unfortunately, I doubt a man like Mr. Rizzo would be elected today. Remember we’re talking 50 years ago. I’m not saying everything he did was right. I’m not saying his views and attitudes on everything we’re correct. What I’m saying is Law and Order needs to be restored to cities like New York, Philadelphia, LA, Detroit, San Francisco, etc. unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll see it. Not in today’s age of Political Correctness.

Philly police are getting 250 times more funding than the 1970's, and they can only solve 2-3% of murders. Law enforcement is grossly incompetent and a drain on community and city funding. NY city taxpayers had to pay out over 1 billion in settlements from lawsuits the NYPD caused through obscenely abusive and negligent behavior. Also violent crime is less than half of what it was in the 1970s. So your paranoia and manufactured despair over the "lawlessness" today is an ignorant delusion. 95% of crime is a product of economic depression and untreated mental illness. Both of these issues can be easily solved through social programs, higher funding for public education, and a socialized healthcare system like every other 1st world nation has. Instead, you want a racist mayor and a militarized police state. This is why boomers are the worst and most vile generation.

I missed that cutoff by several years. Looked at the latest statistics for Major Cities violent crime is way up In Philadelphia and other cities. I can tell by your use of words like “Social Programs” and your obvious distain for Law Enforcement that your a Liberal or maybe even Socialist or Communist. That’s fine, since you basically labeled me a Boomer and a Nazi and an idiot. Typical Liberal thing to do. If you like people defecating and urinating in the streets, drug addled zombies walking the streets (Kensington in Philly for example) people running in and grabbing whatever they want from stores in the “Inner City” without so much as a slap on the wrist, billions of dollars being put into “Social Programs” and Public Schools with little or no progress being made, then you can call me a “Conservative” which is just Liberal Speak for Nut, Racist, Nazi, call me “Boomer” I’ll wear that badge proudly. I think we have enough “Social Programs” as it is. Maybe the whole system should be torn down and rebuilt. Certainly Mental Illness (Drug Use) is a major problem. Neither Political Part can seem to find a solution. Maybe it all needs to be revamped. I’m not saying round them up and kill them. They’re human beings, but whatever we’ve been doing for 50 or more years isn’t working. I’m not going to engage in a war of words with you. You hate the Police, insult anyone with a different opinion than yours, talk about “Economic Disparity and Injustice” and “Social Programs. The only ones you missed are “Systemic Racism” and “White Privilege” I’m a Right Wing Gun Loving Trump Loving Nazi in your eyes. You’re a big Joe Biden loving Liberal in mine. Maybe even Bernie or Hillary? That’s great. You probably live in Philly or New York or LA and think anyone who lives anywhere other than a “Urban Area” is a Redneck Bumpkin.
