Brilliance and genius in songwriting, musicianship and production

Once again, Bowie does an incredible job here. The thing is he was working on two of his own albums per year and writing for Mott The Hoople & doing this with Lou. Totally amazing. Note that many of Bowie's albums were recorded in two weeks time and many times he entered the studio with no material lol. Genius!

I love this stuff, finding out the nuts and bolts of music creation. I used to see nothing but the apparent humor of the Transformer songs but things were way more serious than that and I see that now.

Joe Dallesandro and Holly Woodlawn seem mightly out of place in this documentary. Lou takes the piss out of both of them in his 1978 LP, Take No Prisoners Live.

Questi programmi sono tradotti coi proverbiali piedi. Holly Woodlawn alla fine dice "Io volevo imparare, crescere"; parla di imparare a recitare, crescere come artista, non "grow up", o diventare adulti. Sottotitolati cosi' queste interviste sono puro nonsense. Ma in Italia quasi tutto e' cosi'... no? Ho visto video con alcuni dei Gaznevada - considerati una delle prime band New Wave italiane - che ora si fanno chiamare The New Velvet Underground... cose patetiche, provinciali, ridicole...
