@9:25 when you were chopping your garlic, I wanted to give you some info about the antioxidant benefit of garlic, Allicin.💖 When I went through breast cancer in 2016, I would visit a center for people dealing with cancer where you can take various classes for free. I took a cooking class where they teach you some healthy cooking recipes. One of things they taught us was that garlic was a good antoixidant called Allicin. However, for the antioxidant to become active, first you do what you want with your garlic (mince, dice, grate etc). Then after you do this, you leave it on the side for 10 minutes. Then you can use it for your cooking. They said, you have to cut the garlic however you want, let it sit for 10 minutes (which is important) and this will activate the Allicin. If you for example, crush your garlic and add it to your recipe right away. You will not get the benefit of Allicin at all. Just a thought I wanted to share with you from my breast cancer journey.💖

I couldn't get over how clean the baskets in the store were, totally new and spotless. Here they are quite dirty but I never paid attention to that but now will. I think someone must really clean up those carrying baskets there and the store was super clean looking with food items wrapped.

One serving of almond milk is the equivalent of about three almonds. See if you can make your own by blending a few almonds with water and a pinch of salt, and sugar if you like. You can strain out the flesh if you don't want it, but the fiber is good. Oat milk is easy to make too, by soaking instant oats till soft then blending, then straining out the solids. It's very good for you and delicious!

Watching from California, I am amazed by the prices. Although I'm fortunate that the selection is wide and the cost is low relative to the rest of my country due to growing so much food in our own state, it's still SO much higher than your prices that I'm starstruck! When I visited Japan we noticed low prices of food compared with home, but we thought it was mostly due to being a time of the exchange rate in our favor. And we could not cook while in hotels, of course, so we only saw prepared food prices and didn't notice ingredient cost. Thank you for showing this shopping! Your channel is really lovely!

I live in Texas, and I too was surprised by the low grocery prices in Japan but for a different reason - not because they are lower than here but by the fact that they are almost comparable to American food prices. When I was younger, I remember reading about exorbitant food prices in Japan, so either the Japanese government is doing something right to bring them down, or American food industry mafia have been jacking up our prices because they can, using COVID as an excuse. Everything seems to be much more expensive in California because of the taxes your government has imposed on all sectors of economy to pay for their state's pet projects.

Watching you prep and prepare something other than chicken and brocoli as Americans do is fantastic. You have me interested in cooking again!!!!

@@iwantalbuquerque7770 Hi....so sorry, I get the feeling of pain and fear from just your few words. Life is not easy for so many today...I'll be 70 in a couple of weeks, I have no friends, birth family left, and a son with aspergers. I guess I was Forced Into Adapt other wise I would have lost my mind...my life became so un manageable because I felt the need to control everything because I was so scared/scars of emotional pain. Just like this channel's growth in 5 months since I posted last, ask your self where you want to be in 5 months from now and figure out a way to do something kind for yourself each day towards that goal. It's not easy to be kind to yourself, took me many years to stop bad mouthing myself....all of this has lead me to a more accepting way of living, a desire to be kind and positive to all I encounter, a few words, a smile. And finally with age, I've had to adapt because I've no control over 'aging body issues'....I wish you well, peace and healing prayers to find your way towards ???? that will bring you Joy In Your Life.💜💜💜
