I actually love "loud listeners" if they're actively engaging with whatever we're watching, like somethings or new things maybe it's fine to just quietly engage but man they're so fun to hear

The best movie theater experience I ever had was the first Percy Jackson movie (and not because the movie was good. The movie sucked). It was pretty quiet all throughout the movie, then at the end when the abusive stepdad gets petrified and turned to stone, some random dude in the audience shouted "That's what you get, baddie!" It was absolutely magical. Much of the theater laughed. I still think about that guy sometimes. I hope he's alright.

My local cinema has this thing called sneak peeks where every week a random movie is shown before it's official release. One of the rooms used for the sneak peek movies is so well known for its loud listeners, to the point where loud listening has become the norm. We even have tradions like the entire audience doing the wave every time certain ads rolls before the movie xD
@kfogo7459
@kfogo7459 Жыл бұрын
that sounds awesome! as cinema has been struggling to stay relevant with all the streaming etc around for quite a while now, using its unique features as advantage makes total sense and i always felt that the social component of cinema was a huge thing to capitalize on. it shouldnt be looked at as a nuisance to have other people around but as a shared social event, as a happening. so i think making both quiet watching and loud watching possible for people to freely choose between is a great move and the development of traditions as you mentioned speaks volumes about its success

When you're watching a movie based on a book and you've read the book, you feel a need to talk. I feel like if there's an issue, people should establish beforehand whether people can talk. Like if it's someone's first time watching LotR, just let them have it. But you need to give people opportunities to watch it being allowed to talk.

as a loud listener, and a loud listener hater this is incredibly relatable. also i end up loud listening the most when i’m high energy and depressed watching something i’m not that interested in with others. if i actually try to analyse that, i just can’t be in silence and need to be doing something else to stop my brain, but i feel the pressure to pay attention to the movie since there’s people around and i’m worried it’ll be seen as rude, even though i’m aware that uncontrollably making comments constantly is incredibly annoying.
