LOUD! My M240i gets a MST INTAKE!

In this video we install the MST Performance cold air intake to the BMW M240i. The installation is pretty forward and only requires basic hand tools. I included before and after data logs so you can see the difference compared to the stock intake! Crazy whoosh sounds ASMR! Edit hot air is denser than cold 🙈

The sound reminds me of the MK4 Supra blow-off valve 🎶 I’ve had mine on around 4k miles and love it, I drive in eco pro mode just to hear the intake 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just ordered this with a catted vrsf downpipe. CANNOT WAIT!! My tuner pulled alot of performance with a custom stage 1. Stage 2 is going to be MENTAL!

Had this on my M240i for 15 months now, still absolutely love the noise it makes and no running issues. It's far louder in real life than on these videos and it never gets boring. No issues in the heatwaves we've been having either. Well worth it.

Surprised it took you so long to do an intake! I have the VR performance intake on my car, sounds very similar. But it’s $150 cheaper, although it is an open system versus closed like on the MST

Mate that sound is heavenly n very similar to my old Agency Power intake, I sold it and retuned to the stock box with your old setup.... but boy i miss that sound!! You're tempting me again lol. A full round circle 🤣 - Do you reckon there's a benefit to the front mounted intake instead?

Hahaha get it done mate! Front mounted will take in way more air however I’ll get mine soaked as I still plan to drive it in the rain occasionally if I’m en route somewhere, they might be better off on drag cars that only come out in the summer

Sounds gud mate, I have the AP/VR open one which sounds awesome aswel. About the heat soak though surely the b58 won’t suffer from it as it’s a charge cooler and not an intercooler, so even if the IAT temps are higher it just means the charge cooler will work harder to reduce the temps. I may be wrong so please correct me if I am. Keep up with the gud content 👍🏻

Dense air is colder than warm air, Tim.. But I think what you've said, was just without realising it yourself... :D

Tim do you have a loud exhaust? And if so can you still hear the intake? My exhaust is pretty loud so dont want to throw away money if i cant hear the intake.

Yes you’ll deffo hear it man, it’s when it builds up boost that sound comes and I don’t have aggressive pop and bangs, just the standard as it damages turbos and engine bores…well worth it, I’ve got a sports cat with res and backbox modded
