Correct, it´s an 3liter inline 6 with carburettors and crossflow head with 300horses I think.

There is probably not a whole lot of original suspension parts under it. The Opala was built as a straight "copy" of the Opel Commodore at the start with the exception of engine and drive train, and the suspension was absolute rubbish back then. Lots of work was needed to make it handle even "sporty", and certainly to make it race. I've owned about 10 Opel Commodore A's in my early days, and they were lovely cars to drive, but doing some spirited driving... well, the road handling let it down pretty quickly. I love the Opel straight 6 cylinder engines, though.
