Hey hey hey, 👋 Soniclab so glad you posted this comment because I’ve been curious about “reproducing” the (what I THINK is a Slot Port) format. So, the JL Audio 13.5 w7 (no one has that kinda money) BUT it has that, again, what I think is a Slant Box-Style where the interior of the box is red carpet and the exterior of it is regular black carpet, im sure you’ve seen it. So, with the 10inch w7, THAT red inner and black outer (the whole thing is composed of the self contained porting system/mechanism) was the best quality sound OH and they’re all single cut out / single sub box for JL THE best sounding across the music genre board(rap, country, emo… ) and it was just a set up (800watt amp??) that left an impact on me, clearly lol, but my question is should I pursue having someone re-create that type of Slant Box porting that JL has/had for my single SKAR zvx 8-2 ohm (900rms) & Kicker CXA.800 amp? Or would the fact it’s an 8inch platform (instead of the 10, 12, 13.5 offered by JL ) make it “Not Be As Good”? Or should I find someone to recreate that? (I’m with an 8 single set up because my trunk space (2015 Subaru legacy) is often compromised by everyday cargo and I just thought having a “mini-“ version of the JL box Slant Port would be cool! IF it will work as well. Sorry to lay a ton on you but you seem to have experience and idk I’ll shut up lol. What do you think?

@@Memiselphi I have a Camry and got 15s in my trunk. Is ported or sealed better? I always thought sealed was the way to go when dealing with vehicles that had trunks and not open air space

It wouldn’t work with the way I had to rush putting the system in. I had to mount my amps on the box, mounted the 6x9 box on top of the sub box as well. The port would have been partially blocked by my Cmax. It was just a temporary setup in that truck for my anyway. But I appreciate the advice.

@@crikmtb5338 honestly I wouldn’t even do that you can get 4 skar Ix-8 for 40 each and put them in a potted box tuned anywhere from 34-39hz it will sound and hit amazing got mine set up like under my back seats running bout a little over 1000 watt rms at 1 ohm to all subs

@MrNitrotheboss wasn't hating on the vehicle or amount of subs you have. I ended up shattering my windshield with mine was extremely impressed with how 6 X8s sound. An volvos are some of the best vehicles out there.

If you heard anything in the video, it’s a temporary setup. Also, I don’t like to do the norm. I also refuse to use 18 inch woofers. Everyone I knows runs a pair of some sort of 18s and they are not my cup of tea. I do it for fun and being unique, not for numbers.

Yeah, the cone was shredded, the tinsel leads were gone, and it wasn’t hooked up at all. They are dual 2s, so original I was running all 6 of At .67 ohms, but with that one blown, I don’t know what ohm the amp was seeing at this point.
