They usually only lip synch when they have horrible colds or flu, or their voice is worn out. Most concerts I have been to (Mr. Bungle, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Quicksand, Helmet, Rickie Skaggs, Primus etc.) all sounded as good but somewhat different than the albums. Now when I saw Iron Maiden in Liousville Bruce Dickenson had a terrible cold and soar throat but still sang, just not nearly as well.
