My opinion about the song, having references being a fan, the interviews Louis gave, the lyrics and the MV, it means accepting the change, your mistakes, and that it's not the same as it was, but at the same time keeping a part of you. The symbolic part in the video is shown with the branches, he burns them but keep one with him. In the lyrics it seems that he talks about someone who has had control over him, and who now wants to destroy him by saying that he is a liar. ”Do you ever ask why it's not black and white? How you sleep at night, when you're just like me" He talks to that person/those people, wondering how they can sleep after everything they did to him. ”I didn't read the signs“ I interpret it as that he did not read some red flags correctly, like a contract, but he tried that it will work ”Walking different lines I know I took a left Tryna make it right“ "All of those voices" something said by Louis, they represent all the bad voices, who judged him (not just normal haters, it's for particularly someone/s, 'cause he speaks personally) but also the good ones, the fans, who supported him. Letting the song aside that it's a freaking stunning piece of art, i wanna highlight how beautifully done it's the MV, maybe it seems to be not very complex visually in terms of shots and change of clothes or something like that. But just with the resource of Louis throwing wood to the wildfire and the big long shots of the immense nature we can see clearly and metaphorically the meaning of this song, in my opinion. He's burning all those things and voices he used to be afraid and that he had to carry for very long ways/roads. And the fact he just kept the only little piece of wood he actually found near the wildfire without even looking for it could have A LOT of meanings and I love it.
