I have the empreinte one and I love it! I’m sorry you got a defective one. So far, I’ve only had one defective item that I ordered online with LV a year or two ago and it was the key cles, too but luckily when I called customer service, they had them in stock and I was able to just exchange right then and there. I have the empriente version that I use specifically for my business cards. I love it. LV quality isn’t what it used to be. I feel like years ago we rarely seen the issues that we see now consistently. It’s sad especially when your prices are sky high but your quality is way low. It’s why I’ve started to look at other fashion houses. ❤

Ahh I love the LV business card holder, such a great choice! 🥰💖 Ughh wow that glazing is sooo sus omg. 😒 Something similar happened to me with glazing issues on a newer canvas SLG back in 2021. It began to wear off at the corners after less than 6 months - plus I babied it, so couldn’t believe how fast it wore off. 🤔 I got it repaired at LV for no charge since it was deemed defective on their part. But after that experience, I’ll stick to their leather pieces if I decide to purchase again in the future. Hope you can update us with what you decide! 💫

Hi love, so sorry you had experienced this with LV. I also ordered this piece about 2 months ago and was super excited because my SA found one for me. You are definitely not the only one that has experienced this. Mine is also made in France but I noticed that when I close the wallet, it is crooked. I feel like when they were measuring the canvas itself, they did not do a good job with measuring, therefore the wallet came out a bit lobsided 😭

One of the bags I purchased from online had the white stuff on glazing which is not acceptable in my opinion. So I ended up returning it at the store, the SA told me that it's "glazing residue" and you can just rub it off. But I don't think it should be there at all especially when I'm paying more than 2k for the bag. Definitely return it and hope new one is perfect. 💕

I buy all-leather black LV pieces like the Empreinte leather small leather goods. I have five pieces of the empreinte line all in black. The leather on them is nice and feels nice and soft. They seem to be made better than the canvas pieces. LV's quality is not what it used to be. I have the large bucket bag I purchased over 30 years ago, and the quality of this bag is still beautiful-nothing like the canvas bags they make today. Just my opinion 😊

I bought this item this week! I’ve been looking at LV compact wallet reviews and was considering the Victorine. The card holder is half the price, easier to use and fits easily in all of my bags. I use my Rosalie for extra cards that I don’t need all of the time. My card holder is perfect. I’m sorry that yours has issues. x

I just received my vintage alma back from having new Vachetta done, they did a great job but put incorrect hardware on my handles... they are making it right as much as they can (original work took 8 months so I didn't want to send it back again) by sending me a strap for it. I think the one they are sending will be a little short but it's free so there is that. I'm glad you showed this little SLG, I think I might look for a pre-loved one!

After waiting for so long for this and saw it became available online on Oct 16 while I was in my local store so I asked my SA to order 2 of them. Went to the store to pick them up last Sunday and SA said she already checked them and everything is good so I didn’t check the quality myself plus I was too excited that I finally have it. After watching your video, I literally got out of my bed (it’s 1AM here) and checked the one I still haven’t opened, and like yours the etches are rough and slightly raised too. Mine doesn’t have the sticky residue. The other thing I’ve noticed is the exterior stitches are crooked/not aligned. The distance between the etch and stitch line is not even throughout my card holder. I’ve compared this to my husband’s canvas compact wallet as I thought they are similar in shape and his wallet etches are smooth and stitch line isn’t crooked throughout. Yours and mine are probably made from the same batch. Mine is made in France. I will have to check the other holder that I’ve already used tmrw bc I’m too lazy to get it downstairs 😜. I will have to sent my SA questions about these flaws. I agree with you that their quality has gone down drastically because they are cranking out too many styles too fast to keep up with the demand. I have been buying LV for over 15 yrs and didn’t have any issues until the last 2 years. First was the key pouch, the stitches unraveled after less than a few months using it (using here means only holding my car key and its starter n sitting either in my jacket or purse). My SA sent it out to get to fixed and no issue after that. 2nd item sent out was my medium Kirigami Pochette a month after the key pouch. The pouch closer snap became loose. It would open up with a slight touch. I was using this pouch only to hold my family passport when we travel. After waiting over 5 months, the repair department could not do the repair so the store told me to bring in the rest of the kirigami set and replaced it with a new set for me. After the incident, Ive stopped using the medium and large pouches and only have been using the small size to hold 4-6 cards. And the small size closer snap is getting loose but still holding up better than the what had happened to the medium one. Even though I use the small one more but the snap shouldn’t be loosen up after 8 months. My first item bought from them was a wallet over 15 years ago and the coin compartment snap is good with no issue. I have brought up the quality concern with my local store but don’t think the quality control department cares as we have seen and heard so many bad quality made items from them in the past few years. I ordered this online a few months ago. As soon as I opened it I could see that it was crooked when closed. The front card slot was stretched. And the front flaps were starting to curl up. It was clearly a used piece. I was so upset, so I returned it and I pretty much give up on LV. The last new bag I purchased (Speedy B25) had so many flaws and I had to return that also. And with all the price increases, I’m pretty much done with them.

My 6 key card holders glazing was "shedding" like they added to much but then it stopped and everything was fine knock on wood. Yes, my piece was made in France as well.

I am sorry your item came defective. I always order my LV items online because there are no stores near my area. I’ve always had a great experience ordering online, but my pochette accessories came damaged twice. I finally got the perfect one on my third attempt which was delivered from Dallas/Fort Worth airport store. I still love LV pieces in general, but they really do need to inspect their goods prior to shipping out to their clients!!!

For me I always see abused items in store 😅Bags with scratches on hardware, wallets with stretched cards slots! So I always purchase online, never had an issue so far 🤞🏼 I have a zippy wallet that started showing these white residues around the glazing after few months of purchasing! I took it in the store and they cleaned it for me in the store!

I want this. Doesn't matter where they are made. Depends on the artisan and the quality check. I have two made in USA, some from Italy, Spain and France and the only one I ever returned was made in France.

I have the empreinte leather and it’s a beautiful piece. I use it to store all my cards except one debit one credit and ID. Those I carry on a MagSafe wallet on my phone. Rest of my cards go to the LV wallet. I don’t use it as much because I find it taking out cards is kinda weird. It’s not a seamless as it should feel for me. I wanted to keep it I just couldn’t have it be my “everyday” wallet.

Not an SLG but my Passy’s glazing started peeling off not even more than 6 months since I bought the bag and they repaired it no problem but when asking if this was a common problem the SA (not the person who sold me the bag) was like “not the I know of.” Luckily the manager was there and said def free of charge. I have since bought either preloved or from another fashion house.

I feel like that LV has real issues with their glazing. I’ve had two pieces (6 ring and recto verso) that had to be replaced because the glazing peeled off in under a year. So you are smart to send it back.

I had the same issue. Originally I bought the leather version, and it has a defect. Then I went into the store trying to exchange it, both leather and canvas have other defects... and they were all made in France... so I returned mine and didn't purchase it because the quality is not up to the price I'm paying

I’ve had to return my last few made in France pieces. Actually last item I kept was made in USA. Quality was still below par, but I didn’t want to have to send back yet another item so I settled. Item was key cle.

OH, we saw the defects good with the phone camera. If I were in the states, I would order online. Being in Japan I'm saving a lot of money. US prices are getting ridiculous, and selling defective items. Everyone needs a magnifying glass to look over their items, I have one lol. These products are not cheap and most people work hard for their money.

3 years ago I bought a wallet (the men's pocket organizer) for my boyfriend in the store and the glazing on the folding area peeled off in less than a year. i went to the store after the pandemic-shut-down and the snarky sales associate (not the original one who sold me it) told me it's expected because canvas can become dry over time, unlike leather. I was SO MAD at the response. in fact I'm mad right now typing as it reminded me of the situation again lol.

The glazing will crack, it happened to mine. I’ve had mine for 5years and due to the constant opening and closing the glazing cracked on the top sides

I was also able to get it and was extremely happy I paid $295 plus taxes and yes it very underrated.

my damier graphite pochette cles canvas is backwards. Meaning the Louis Vuitton Paris square is closer to the zipper pull and key chain rather it being on the opposite side of the pouch. maybe i got the first batch they made since I got it when they released the damier graphite version but it just irks me cause it looks counterfeit as it doesn't match the one pictured on the site. purchased it at Holt Renfrew Bloor LV

I have a LV checkbook cover l bought 22 years ago, and the glazing is still like new and the whole piece is still perfect. What can be so different about the glazing now? I can’t figure that out. That’s the kind of thing that makes afraid to buy LV online. I have a LV store where I live but they would probably tell that is just normal for their products. What do you think?

I’ll never buy anything from LV again except for their fragrances. My first handbag had stitching that started to come undone after several uses. The price increases are unfounded especially since it only only benefits the big guy at the top

Wanted this for a long time, had the chance to get it online, but returned immediately. Poorly made and gets bulky when stuffed. The key pouch is still the slimmest card holder for me. The Rosalie in empriente however, is the best compact wallet for me.

My snap broke at 2 months of light use. They wanted to charge me 60$ and they said it was my fault. I felt like I was treated like this because it was an inexpensive item.

I think you should keep it. No one likes anything flawed but you are going to throw it around in your bag, the flaws are pretty small and no one will notice. And it’s also an extremely hard piece to find.

I bought this in both Empreinte and canvas. I love them and use them frequently. I agree they’re under the radar and under hyped. The canvas has more pockets than the leather. Both have their place for me. Sorry about how the quality came for you. So disappointing.

Luxury brands are operating like fast fashion now that’s why there are so many quality issues. Workers are probably overworked and underpaid therefore resulting to sloppy work. Seems like Hermes is the only brand still being made flawless because they continue to be “exclusive”
