After much waiting the video of our Ghanaian traditional wedding is finally here. We wanted everybody to understand the meaning behind our beautiful rich culture, so we decided to make a mini-documentary out of it.
We hope everybody enjoys the video, just like how we did on our special day. We might be living in the Netherlands, but we're taking our culture with us, everywhere we go. May the Ghanaian traditional wedding, also be your dream wedding!
This video is produced by TBBM weddings, creative directed by Louisa Fofie and Judith Abena Okodie.

They train you well lol. And we are full of joy. Things like disrespect, tantrums etc are generally not tolerated. Every elder person is your mum or dad or grandparent so you have to give or accord the same respect to them. It's in our culture to treat strangers with the hospitality and great respect and to see them as personal guests. So far as you are human regardless of your race, skin and colour we are to treat you with love, grace and respect. In general we basically see all humans as brothers and sisters unless there is a conflict. Probably that's why we seem to have so much joy lol. We see everyone and the world as one. This goes for majority of Africa or African tribes though.

oof You better learn I am from Mozambique and I can speak my own language Shangaan, Zulu, Swati, Ndebele, Shona and a bit of Swahili. It takes people by surprise because they think I am Hispanic and I am African. My father just happens to be mixed 🤣 so you better learn! It’s something to be proud of in this life!

I am from Fiji in the South Pacific and we have African skin and looks. We were told and we sing it in our song that our ancestors came from South Africa. They came in the canoes. We have our traditional marriage and the white wedding too. We have so much tradition and customs and it is still very much in use today. We are proud that even those living overseas, have not forgotten their culture. A girl and her family feel valued and appreciated when the traditional customs are incorporated into the planned wedding.

Try not to feel that way. I was born in the Caribbean. I Embrace All cultures. Cultural appropriation does not apply to me. For my previous marriage, I wanted an African themed wedding. The groom was French Canadian, with Haitian roots. He did not want that. I Love to see when cultures come together by love, and Celebrate. Especially at a wedding.
