Loved the works of Savoy Brown since the early 70's, have many of their albums. So glad I was able to see them again at a very small venue in Texas a few months before Ken passed, another great musician of our generation gone. RIP Ken Simmonds

Unbelievable! I used to sit in the front row at The Marquee in 1969 when Kim and Chris Youlden played this number. It was crazy and exciting! Even better now! Thanks, Kim!

@@stephengaydos4346 Hell yeah!!!Starting Feb 15, 1969, they played April 12, April 16, April 19, and June 20-21, in 1969, and Feb 20 -21, Aug 28 - 29, and Dec 18 & 19, 1970.and their last two day gig there was Feb. 16 - 17, 1971. Probably the most of any British band. The shows in 1969 were the best with Chris Youlden on vocals and the early Foghat incarnation, Lonesome Dave, Roger Earl and Tone Stephens backing Kim. I think Chris was at the Feb.20 -21 concert you went to or it was Lonesome Dave on vocals. They were one of Bill Graham's favorite bands, - very professional and they had a huge Northeast following. Too bad their manager, Harry Simmonds [either Kim's dad or brother, not sure which], was such an @$$hole to the other band members, he couldn't keep good musicians around long. I still have the program playbills from all the shows I went to there, great memories!

The first Savoy Brown album that I got was Looking In. I think that Looking In was the most "Rock" of the Savoy Album. I especially liked "Leaving Again." Simmons burned that one up. S.B was a four member band at that time and had a straight ahead stripped down sound.

Saw Kim rock this several times at the Fillmore East (I think he was a teenager then, as was I) with the classic Chris Youlden edition of Savoy Brown. They were usually second on a bill of three and outplayed everybody else on the show consistently. Crowd favorites at the FE, along with Mountain, Ten Years After, and Jethro Tull. Kim is still a blisterin' player, as are his bassist and drummer here!
