Do you serve macaroni salad much? I love it, but I don't see it too often on tables!

I enjoy that you do not edit out dog barking, or the fact you are a bit sweaty at the start (its muggy down south, I know). Real life has random happenings, and cooking in the kitchen doesn't usually have retakes, or do-overs.

When I make macaroni salad ahead and it usually absorbs the sauce as you say, I just make extra sauce and once the regular recipe is prepared, I put a pool of more sauce on top and refrigerate. Then when it is time to serve, my extra sauce is all ready and I just mix it in.

I loved how Mrs. Paula said, "Teresa!" And she said, "I'm coming!" It reminded me of when my boys were young and at home. I never had to say, "Supper's ready!" I could just say their name! They were in there, because like Teresa said, "She could smell it!" Thank y'all! I love y'all!

Some chopped romaine would also be yummy in this for folks that don’t like spinach. Love our American icon Ms. Paula Deen!❤️🇺🇸

I absolutely love this!! Tried it for the first time about two years ago and its my go to now! I will use lettuce finely chopped with some shredded cheese and it always get eaten up!! So many options with this dish!! Love it!

oOOooOooOOo Paula!!! I didn't think I could love you anymore than I already did!!! LOL but this sounds delish!!! It was released like 3,639 yrs ago. ✋🏼 It's got chocolate, mustard,onions, not so fresh nutmeg from 20 plus yrs ago on the pages from me using it so much and dripping stuff on it... lol but I still use it. As long as I live and breathe.... ain't no one gettin my L&S cookbook 😡🤭 It was called Lady & Sons. And I think I bought it with my Christmas sweater from Quacker Factory! And got it on flex pay. What's better than southern cooking and flex pay?! Uhm nuttin! 😉♥️

Thank you for this! I'm on dialysis and have to do a lot of extra work to have potatoes because of the potassium and can only have a little. I can however have plenty of the macaroni salads!

I am glad I am not the only one who cuts the stems off of spinach and basil before using in a recipe.

Love it but for me I'd also add some chopped red onions, I just love onions and especially in a salad :)

I add chopped romaine lettuce to my BLT pasta salad. A lot of it. So your getting a little less pasta. Sometimes I add cubed cold chicken breast. So good. Perfect summer meal. Also add the mayo just before serving so it doesn't absorb so much. I've yet to find a better solution to that Mayo problem she mentioned

My better half (Joyce) and I were watching your show and she just renamed your BLT salad. Because there's no lettuce in it so instead of a BLT she called it a BST for bacon spinach and tomato. The new name: "BEST" salad BaconSpinachTomato Love your shows Paula -Russ &Joyce (Florida)

I grew up eating macaroni salad and kidney bean salad. We only used miracle whip in all our salads. I don't remember all the ingredients my mom used but I remember onion , hard boiled eggs, pickles or pickle relish and miracle whip. Probably seasoned with salt and pepper and maybe paprika.

I actually made this and it was a nice change from what I'm used to. I loved that fresh lemon taste!! Much nicer than pure mayo for sure!!!

I make pasta salad all summer long. There’s so many ingredients you can add, shredded cheese, red pepper, and try it with miracle whip, gives it a nice tang and more flavour I think..my kids always loved pepperoni in it, it’s a have fun kinda dish…

Why not chopped spinach like you do basil? it seems like it would be difficult to eat without doing so.

We make this but we call it BAT salad. For Bacon, Avocado and Tomato! This takes it to a whole new level!

I like Tuna Macaroni Salad and Tomatoes and Rigatoni salad. Paula what does adding the lemon juice and zest do? Keep the tomatoes from getting soft? I will probably omit the lemon zest and juice however keep the juice from the tomatoes. If you say that's what the lemon juice does to the tomatoes then i"ll add it to the salad when I make it. My German Grandmother always added small chunks of sharp cheddar cheese, bell peppers and onions to hers

I also put green olives and deviled eggs in mine. But, I have never put bell peppers. You have to have good teeth to chew them. Yours looks great.

I would add some finely chopped celery, much as I love the idea of spinach cant eat it since it triggers my gout.
