My family has always just boiled the cans. I know there's a warning on the cans, now. But, as long as you pay attention and don't leave them to go dry, you're fine. In fact we almost always have at least a can or two in the fridge. You can also find the cans premade at Mexican stores. The "pudding " is a darker brown, but tastes the same.

I cook my sweetened condensed milk in a kettle on the stove. Covered with water and low boil for 90 min. I do 4 at a time, just to have it on hand. I add a couple drops of vanilla and a pinch of salt, to up the flavor.

You can also put the entire unopened can of condensed milk in a pot of water, and boil it for 3-4 hours, depending on whether you want it to be light or dark colored caramel.

Banoffee Pie is the number one dessert in the UK. We've had it for years and years there. And it's pronounced BanNOFFie. 🇬🇧❤ I'm glad we have sent the US another delicacy.

I would mix Honey with the Butter when making that Graham Cracker Crust. Maybe a little Brown Sugar in it too.

I have always cooked my sweetened condensed milk by putting the cans in a pot full of water and boil and then simmer on the stove for about 4 hours. It comes out perfect every time!

I use Biscotti cookies for the crust. Also I take the short cut and use Dulce de leche instead of cooking sweetened condensed milk

I just made the Toffee from SCM using an Instant Pot pressure cooker. Search Dulce de Leche in an Instant pot for the recipe. If you cook it for 40 minutes the result is Dolce de Leche. I cooked it for 25 minutes and it was perfect.

Do you not have caramel condensed milk in the US? A quick banofee pie.... you can use a ready made pie base, or single serve ready made bases. Slice bananas into the bases. Top with the caramel condensed milk. Chill. Serve with whipped cream. Lovely for an unexpected invite to dinner for dessert. So quick.

Pie stands for COFFEE & BANANA. when I made mine I put a LiL Hershey's cocoa & instant COFFEE , mix tem together SPRINKLED ion top !! otherwise where's the COFFEE
