I love the idea of the 'captive' manipulate the 'kidnapper' as a ways of control or survival. We actually see the 'kidnapper' in a scene with a collar, and the 'captive' smiling without his collar and still holding the chain. It's showing his control over the situation. (Also, wonderful animation 😍)
