We don't hear Donovan on the radio much these days. But he had some wonderful tracks.

Yeah it was so great. Half the guys in my town being sent off to fight in the Vietnam war, 1/2 of those coming back missing legs and eyes. And let's not forget what this commercial is about. Telling a young girl that her freckles are so ugly she needs to cover them up with makeup.. I mean I love the music of the sixties, and I love the fashion and the art design. But I get a little tired of people acting like it was an actual great time period. I know for a fact it wasn't because I watched my mother work herself almost into the ground doing her job while training every male manager who came through the office. And she was told she would never be made manager because she had kids and she might need to miss work to go home to take care of them and that would interfere with her managerial duties. Plus they thought that guys would be embarrassed to have to answer to a woman manager. Meanwhile the male managers she trained went and played golf and took off early for martini lunches twice a week. Yeah, great times.

Perfect approach to wearing makeup. Cover stuff up if you want, or don't. Wear minimal, or get a little more glam. It's up to you.

My heart went ‘pitter-patter’ for the first time when I first saw that commercial. I was about 12 and puberty was in full swing. She has remained ‘my type’ ever since. Well, I guess it was really a toss-up between her, Twiggy, and Astrud Gilberto-the singer who made Girl From Ipanema a big hit in 1965.

I REALLY HATE IT WHEN THOSE WHO NEVER EVEN GREW UP IN THE 70's get on here and compare today to then and how damaging this commercial is. Give me a break liberal feminists. Some women like feeling and looking pretty instead of androgenyous she men of today. Those were the good ole days when you were able to be a young girl and act like it instead of some shim.

I'm a liberal feminist, and I love wearing makeup. Being a feminist has nothing to do with it. Some women like to wear it, some don't.

For someone who claims to have grown up during earlier decades, you sure have quite an ~immature attitude towards fellow females who don't match up to ~your narrow feminine ideals. Humans happen to be very varied & even in those "good old days", the "girly-girl" type was not a singular style, as plenty of "andro" ones actually existed back then too (hair, clothes, etc). Neither is your type "rare" today, unless you live under a rock. Classic, stereotypical femininity is as popular as ever! So no need to tear down others in defense of it. Try opening your mind & heart a bit, & relax some more.. ^-^
